This is exactly why we decided to purchase a tractor with a cab, for these types of conditions. The tractor sees heavy use doing mowing duties and snowblowing duties and both make it much more pleasant with a cab! I just need to replace my wipers with winter rated ones ...

There's not enough Eddie Bauer winter clothing to make me give up my heated cab. Rear blower is good with a front blade. Rigged up a front blower to fit on the ssq on the loader a few years ago. Worked very well along with a rear blade. Didn't have a shear bolt or clutch at the pto shaft so I quit using it for fear that something would pile up in the homemade chain case and damage the tractor. Still on my mind how to correct that.

Agreed! Love my cab, such a nice place to be. The front mount on the ssqa, PTO driven or it had an onboard motor like we see on SxS?

@@brokenpinesfarm It was a system like the rear powered Erskine and Schulte. Chain case at the rear pto, shaft running to the front. I need the loader for deer feed in the winter yet so had to devise a way to utilize the loader with the blower. Had limit chains so it wouldn't pull apart the shaft. But unlike the commercial units, mine was very close coupled to the tractor so I still had use of the three point for a rear blade. Lots of sittn' n thinkin'. Made to fit my 1742 Massey.

I have a front mounted blower. I can’t imagine driving backwards to blow snow, but maybe you get used to using the mirrors?

You can use the mirrors, I just turn around for now.

Does the mid mount pto lose any horsepower for the front mount 74" blower vs rear mount?

Good question I do not know, I would imagine that anytime you lengthen the PTO shaft you would tend to lose a little bit of power.

Chains are on the "I'd like some eventually" list but so far so good, low gear 4wd locked diff usually gets me through anything.

That’s what I did grand L 3560 , mid pto with front mounted 64” blower , la805 loader , 72” box blade out the back , air ride seat, led headlights , led front and rear work lights , heated mirrors , and stereo

How involved is it to install a front mounted snowblower ? I find having my loader with a bucket useful in the winter.
