Hi TT ~ I have already subscribed, and I just liked this particular comment. I realize that you did a great job showing the ground clearance of the RTV-X1100C with all of the necessary machinery in place, but I really need to know just how difficult it is to remove all of the drive units necessary to regain maximum ground clearance. In other words, I need to know how to restore the machine to maximum ground clearance to facilitate use of the machine in non-snow months. In closing, we need the snow blower for the winter months, but we also must have as much ground clearance as possible in the warmer months. In our forestry operation, we have to use a UTV to negotiate old skid roads and the rocks protruding from these old washed-out roads are treacherous. Thanks very much for your thoughts.

well Mark, I need YOUR help. I need the part number for the "subframe" that the A-frame with the drive coupler system mounts to. The subframe is mounted to the front of the Kubota with bolts. No one can help, can You???

@@timberwrightsvs480 Howdy, I am not sure he responded to you but it takes me about two hours to remove the kconnect system and drive lines from the machine

@@markstratton7505 Thank you, Mark. We visited this subject back in 2019, so we've since moved on with a new skid steer and hydraulic snow blower combination. I do recall the salesman at the area Kubota dealership telling me that it would take nearly 8 hours of shop labor time to move from winter to summer operation -- by completely removing the K-connect system -- so you're definitely doing something right. Regardless, I'd like to know how you like your Kubota RTV? You've obviously used it year round, so you seem like a good person to ask. By the way, we live in a mountainous environment, so ground clearance is an important issue for us. Thanks again for thinking about us.

@@bt5526 Interesting,,, well maybe they are doing something wrong or have new people working on it each time,,, the blower just needs a small block placed under the gear box area and a fella can disconnect the hydraulic lines in like 20 seconds and pull the right and left side lower pins that have keeper pins in the so you just have to rotate them either direction 25 degrees or so, then rotate the spring loaded lever which slides the lovejoy coupler back a few inches, then lower the lift arm down and back up,,,, 4 minutes tops. then the hydraulic power unit disconnects in less than a minute and cut a couple zip ties which hold the wires and main power supply in place. then remove a hairpin clip and its main pin and lift the hyd pwr unit off and set it aside less than a minute. then the drive line has a quick coupler which you kinda pull it forward then remove the hairpin clip and its main pivot pin which is about an inch in diameter and the whole lift arm / drive line and clutch assembly comes off in one piece,,,, maybe 4 minutes tops... then lift the machine up, remove the pans,,, maybe 15 minutes,, remove the rear four bolts that hold the main gear box PTO system frame in place and let it lower while still connected to the front two remaining 1/2" bolts allowing it to kinda rotate down a tad, then remove that very short and very poorly designed drive line from the engine and PTO,, maybe 15 minutes. Then remove the front two bolts and lower the unit gaining access to the hydraulic lines and connect them to each other, then slide the whole unit out and away, maybe 20 minutes. Put the pans back on maybe 10 minutes my math and grammar may not be the best but I'm thinkin worst case scenario 2.5 hours shop labor and I'd personally show their shop manager these steps. I like our units. However, as an experienced operator and engineer fabricator, it's easy to see that several of the parts are poorly designed such as the main lift system in the front and the subframe which bolts onto the front of the Kubota has no support to the machine at the top and with all of the up and down action the steel flexes way too much promoting failure and ifin ya happen to catch anything with a left or right edge of the snow blower, the side thrust easily bends and brakes the steel of the subframe. Which is the part that I am trying to locate as I am rebuilding ours currently... after so much heat and cool in fab the steel becomes weak as is the case for us , then the angle of the short drive line connecting the PTO and to the engine is extreme and promotes premature failure. I do like them though except I feel like I'm sliding forward in these seats all the time the angle seems weird sorry for rambling

We have this exact setup at work. We've replaced the gearbox and driveshaft 4 times now. The snowblower works great but the gearbox doesn't hold up. Between the broom and blower, we've honestly put less than 10 hours of actual use on the gear boxes combined. The issue is the gearbox turning all the time the machine is running. It's a trash design and Kubota knows it. They don't have a fix for it. That came straight from the mouth of our last 2 factory reps.

A review of a snowblower without snow? That's like reviewing an airplane on the ground. Are you going to do an update in a one foot snowfall?
@TractorTread7 жыл бұрын
I only had a couple hours to spend with the unit. The RTV wasn't mine. I asked the owner if I could do a follow up video of the machine working in the snow he said that would be fine. Getting to his place with a foot of snow on the ground may be a challenge. It's really hard to do snow products in an area that doesn't get that much snow. There is a few videos out there of people using the snowblower.

Hopefully they come up with a better connection setup. The mirror gimmick is going to be a joke used by competitors against kubota at some point. Imagine hooking this thing up at -30 and in the snow? And who keeps the blower on all winter???...no one. That sub-frame that must be left on without the blower is going to render your machine useless for everyday chores. No ground clearance!
