I own one and the best addition so far is the side mirrors. I also installed seat covers to protect the original interior and with the right tires, it will get you out of some tough muddy places. I can't justify the expense of the tracks at this point, but it is reliable. I don't come across a large quantity of snow like you appear to have very often or for long periods so the tracks may never be needed.

Wow! Congratulations on the acquisition! You got the "totally spoiled" version I can see! I did not figure you were so far in the woods logging. I understand the 2km ride is a MAJOR factor to get a heated cab. That is no luxury at this point. That machine will keep its resale value for a few decades, so that is rather on the side of an investment than an expense. You will be truly the first channel I see this model of machine really working, especially out in the woods. They usually carry hay bales in a field or for snow removal in a parking lot. I really like the hydraulic capability, which adds a lot of options. With the added tracks, that machine will reach another level! I agree with you, UTVs are not meant to go in deep snow. Very little clearance relative to their length/width. Thanks!

What was your reasoning in choosing the worksite tires? I don't know which tires to get on mine.
@OakMountainAcotts2 жыл бұрын
I didn't put much thought into it. I figured if this was the standard tire that came on the machine, Kubota probably did it for a reason. I can tell you though that those tires seem to get an amazing grip on ice and the treads seems to work snow up and leave a nice rough texture to freeze in on the trails. Not sure how they will do in mud but I guess we will find out soon enough! We have tracks coming next week and I will use them for the Spring break up when tires cut up the woods roads. I hate to use the snow machine on mud and then access spur roads with snow so I think the tracks will be a nice improvement!

Tracks would be a good addition to the RTV. Are you planning on adding a snow plow for it as well? It would certainly make maintaining your forest roads in winter easier. Tire chains would be another option for added traction. Did you trade in the Honda side by side to get this Kubota RTV?
@OakMountainAcotts3 жыл бұрын
One of the reasons I chose this machine was because of the K-connect system that can be installed. It basically gives you a front mount PTO and hydraulics to run a snow blower, sweeper or v-plow. I didn't get this stuff now because I did have to draw the line somewhere on total cost. I sold my Honda and got a good price for it (pandemic effect) and that allowed me to move into this RTV. Take care! Jason
@tractortalkwithgary12713 жыл бұрын
I have the RTV 900. Mine does not have the climate controlled cab. there are advantages both ways. Not having the cab is nice when I am in my woods. I have 110 acres of hardwood timber and it makes it easier to see to maneuver around limbs and such without the cab. I have a 3500 lb. winch on the front of mine as well. they are built very sturdy and will last a long time. I have noticed that mining locations seem to either gravitate to either the Kawasaki Mule or the Kubota RTV's. There must be a reason for that.

People who bash the horsepower have no idea what they are talking about. Diesel power is known for its torque not hp. Many manufacturers keep them at 25 horse because if they go more than that EPA says it must have DEF. So if they upped power you would then pay even more and complain about def lol.
