Yes but Dev did that just to divert his mind because he never had anyone else to share his feelings with (his only best friend was Sona whom he lost). Sona had her family support which Dev was lacking. But he never gave the importance nor the love to anyone else which he gave to Sona. He could not rely on his family and he could not share his problems with Golu his only reason to be happy in those 7 years. Sona's family always was with her to give her firm support and also Soha-a strong reason to live for Sona.
