Mathurya Murali - An Exposition of Tarangams
Kuchipudi is an ancient dance form of India that has its roots in the southern province of Andhra Pradesh that involves fast, rhythmic footwork and sculpture-like body postures. Essentially a dance-drama, it unfolds scenes from Hindu epics and mythology by combining music, dance and acting.
This product unveils the nuances of 'Tarangam' an important component of Kuchupidi through a pulsating recital by 'Kalaimamani' Uma Muralikrishna, a highly acclaimed artiste. The highlight of 'Tarangam' is that the dancer dances on the edge of a brass plate marked by nimble but complicated rhythmic patterns.
Goverdhana giri dhara-Ragamalika-Adi
This composistion of Narayana Theertha from 'Krishna Leela Tarangini' describes how Krishna lifted a mountain with his little finger and sheltered the entire village under it. It also speaks about his boyhood pranks.
Maragatha mani maya chela-Aarabi-Adi
This lyric by Uthukadu Venkatasubba Iyer extols the charm of Krishna, his lure and the luster of his garment.

Kuchipudi is one of the hardest dance forms it is Lyrical dance form portraying a virtual visual performance with subtle face expression with perfect dance form all the times. from 7:50 to 8:15 she is satyabhamma and at the very next second she changes to a third person saying all that she is sassy women among all other women over there and immediately switches back to satyabhamma.

This rendition of Bhama Kalapam by Soundarya is a treat to watch. It was a flawless performance with excellent Nritya and captivating abhinaya. I applaud her on this wonderful performance and sharing that for us to watch and enjoy. Students learning to perform Kuchipudi and of course this dance should watch and learn from Soundarya the dedication on should put in learning the intricacies of dancing this beautiful art form.
