yea that oryx buff is good, but its really not going to change much, because shields are already useless. not bad since oryx needs more going on, but like you said yourself, its a nothing burger change this sledge change is a nerf not a buff. like you said yourself, people are really over valuing an operators speed, and in this case, it literally doesnt help him at all. all this did was make him worse at vertical since he cant stay up there nearly as long due to the loss in hp, which was the really only thing he had over buck. with them being the same speeds now buck is just objectively better what i would do to make him better is buff him back to a 3 armor so he can play vertical better then buck, and improve his kit overall. either give him some sort of new secondary, or a new primary. even hardbreaches on him like you said would go along way. the kapkan change isnt to bad imo, and i honestly think hes going to play better with barbed since that fits his role alot better. hes meant to either get free damage on operators who arent paying attention, or waist the attackers time forcing them to take it slow and properly clear out all of his gadgets. and barbed wire works perfectly for both of those roles. hate to see the nitro go, but it should be fine. the lesion nerf was nothing surprising, hes just extremely good in every regard. also the bosg is now dead. it can only oneshot a 3 armor 3~ meters further then the mossberg can, while having terrible recoil, magsize, ads speed, and it only shoots 1 pellet vs the 8 of the mossberg. its a wild change because the bosg was at best a gimmick gun, and in every way the k1a for vigil or the mk14 ebr for dokkaebi was better then it. the buck nerf is going to hurt him a good bit, since hes no longer essentially a swiss army knife anymore, hes just mainly meant for soft destruction now. it wouldve been nice for him to get his gonne-6 back in compensation tho. the ram nerf shouldnt be to bad either, she just has less ways to break things now. the first bug was talking about if the round managed to end before the countdown timer for canceling a match fully went through, you could essentially cancel the cancel.

oryx main here, i know that he is underpowerd, but since he isnt getting buffed any time soon here are some tips, 1: use the shotgun, it is more efective as a executioner. 2: he is not a roamer, well in theory, he should "block" a path so the atackers are forced to go where you them to go, he is closer to bandit than vigil, but i know he needs changes to realy do either of those roles. 4: be creative, you can get there in time, so be the bishop from chess and be impredictable. last but not least, have fun, if you arent then stop and do something else

I do agree speed is normally overvalued but it is specifically super important to Sledge. When sledge is making vert, he is super susceptible to getting C4'd, especially as a 1 speed. Him being a 2 speed is massive for getting away quickly after making a very hole, especially if you put on a horizontal grip onto his weapon, he zoomin

the thing is, theres only a 10% speed difference between a 1 speed and a 2 speed, which is nothing big. so you really arnt going to get any further away from the nitro then you wouldve as before. and on top of that, with him having less health now, said nitros have a further range to kill. so that isnt better at all. your ever so slightly faster, while now your easier to kill with nitros. and thats just nitros too. your way easier to deal with while not only playing vertical, which makes it so you cant hold vertical for nearly as long or aswell, but stuff like traps are more effective on you aswell. kapkans trap for example goes from needing 3 of them to just down you, to 2 of them will straight up kill you this was a step in the wrong direction. they took away the only thing sledge had over buck, but instead they shouldve focused on the actual problem with sledge, that being his kit. sledge being a 1 speed wasnt the problem, nor is his gadget bad, he just not only has a similar gadget to 2 other ops, but they also just have better kits overall. they need to give him some sort of new primary, maybe an smg or something fast to synergize with his role better, or a new secondary, or even like with what kudos said and give him a hardbreach. sledge needs something the other vertical ops dont have inorder to be more relevant

@astolfo4346 I don't agree at all that 15 health in a 1 shot headshot game is more valuable than 10% speed increase, especially for attacking when you're working against the clock. Where Sledge sticks out is being the most consistent top down vertical soft breacher. Buck is more versatile since he can go below, Ram has quick convenient destruction, but Sledge can create a lot of precise vertical. Which ram can no longer do, and he can do it more consistently than Buck, who's shotgun is sometimes inconsistent opening up floors. Plus Sledge has the option of Nades which Buck doesn't have, allowing him to destroy bulletproof utility that Buck and Ram can't. Not saying he's better than them overall, but there will definitely be sights when I'm gonna take Sledge now that I can make vert faster and Buck/Ram aren't as versatile

@ the thing with that is, sledge is an operator whos meant to play vertical, a place where the one shot headshot mechanic is nearly rendered null. the way you die 99% of the time when playing vertical is via normal damage, not a headshot. even ignoring the vertical aspect of him, people really oversell the fact this game has a oneshot headshot mechanic. most of the kills, even while in my own lobbies (im currently 2 games away from getting my numbers in champ) are not headshots. yes some are, but most of the time thats not the case. thats why an operator like doc is the most picked defender, and rook has the highest win-rate out of any defense ops. hp is way more important then what people give it credit for. if hp was as truely worthless as everyone says it is, then ops like doc and rook would not be preforming so well. theyre both ops who are 3 armors, and have abilities tied to hp, and yet theyre doing great. and for that other part, buck is just objectively better then sledge in every way now. better gadget (in terms of both destruction and use), guns, and secondary gadgets. and ram was a side grade to sledge back when he was a 3 armor, but now that he isnt, she can not only open angles way quicker then sledge, but also hold them way more effectively too, while again having a way better kit then sledge. like i said before, the real problem with sledge is the fact he has nothing that stands out compared to the other ops. the closest thing he has is the heavily nerfed grenades which are just not good anymore since you can no longer cook them, and their destruction capabilities have been nerfed a ton of different times.

They NEED to give sledge a hard breach secondary. He objectively has the worst soft breach in the game so giving him a hard breach ability would make him the type of jack of all trades Operator that buck was. Of course you could give him his SMG-11 back but I don’t think that would fix him. The other option I think that would work would be to nerf buck and ram by day only giving buck 12 shotgun rounds and taking away one of rams buggies. This last idea though I think would be awesome. A unique buff like Arunis wall punches. Sledge wears a gas mask, make it so that he is immune or atleast significantly less affected by smoke charges. Can you imagine sledge with the smg-11 hard breaches and the ability to just walk through smoke? No way that’s not a top5 operator.

my biggest issue about the Sledge buff is, that having a higher speed rating should not be seen as a buff. It just proves that especially 1 speed operators basically dont have any benefit for being much slower and a lot noisier. Since the 10 or 25 HP is the only benefit of being not 3 speed, the downsides should be much lower. In a one-hit-kill headshot game, HP alone is basically not worth much. Especially that low numbers. I think they should consider having the HPs be around 80/100/120HP (imho 2speed should be the "baseline" and 3speed should feel like actually being fragile) and 100/140/160 damage before getting killed (so, less speed means you're much more likely to get downed rather than dying right away), or give other benefits to the lower speeds, such as prolongued bleed-out or giving all 1speed rook's self-revive. Would the last one be OP? Maybe, but then again, a 3speed can just sneak around, peek much faster and give you a headshot that is just as lethal as getting headshotted themselves. It would make 1 speed a legitimate threat in a uniquely differnt way than 3speed and give rook and doc an indirect nerf, by making others access self-revives too. As for 2speed, i'd say they should be about balance and "raw stats". They have some toughness and some speed/quietness (maybe make their crouch noise more quiet so you still can sneak around if you want, but at the cost of moving slowly) , but neither one goes in the extremes like for the other two speed ratings. I just feel like 2speed should feel "normal", while 1speed and 3speed should feel like making a trade-off. 3speed are good for stealth and rushing but can get punished easily, 1speed are bad at both, but are much harder to punish.

I play Ram a lot as a flex and support op with backup fragger capabilities. Her losing the shotgun is going to majorly affect her gameplay, in my opinion. I 100% use it to open hatches, use her boogies in tandom with the shotgun to open walls, make rotates, and the floor that they didn't open, and I'd use the shotgun to make additional vertical or lines of sight. Maybe I'm playing her wrong, but she's my most used op this season, and I've got an 87% win rate with her. Her shotgun is a big part of her load out for me.

There's going to be times when I didn't want to use a boogie to open a hatch or small section of the floor or ceiling. I feel like ubi only listens to people in Pro League, and they only make up what, not to put a percentage out there's but I'm sure they don't make up the majority of us play siege. Just cause they don't like her or think she should have it, doesn't me the community thinks that. And let's be real ubisoft is notorious for not listening to its community. Just like I think Ram should be a hard breacher like the said in her original concept. Her boogies were supposed to make crouch walkable holes in reinforced walls, making a loud noise like metal screeching as it ate thought as the buzz saws on the front. But that idea was scrapped.

hey kudos, I think the sledge buff is valid because despite other softbreachers being more versatile, I think sledge being able to specialize in going hard and heavy is something that for me, is very noticeable. Running Horizontal grip on the AR and being able to just rush in at certain sites is a very powerful tool, especially when a chokehold is happening and you're able to do something at a breakneck pace. I would personally try rushing kitchen to exo from suicide hatch in nighthaven as a duo and I think you'll see how impactful the 2speed is.

I feel this Sledge speed BUFF is slept on. He is now more nimble, can nope away from danger and so on, that is nice, however- THEE BIGGEST bit is he is straight up Faster! He is the best punishment, quiet rush op, at 1 speed it was risky, now he's got some speed? He can burst into a weak point the defender's are yet to get, and go too town with his shotgun, bonus, no explosion broadcasts your breah as much! It was my favorite tactic against slow players, punishing for roamers that didn't set up too for quick obj action! I'm going to enjoy this and listen too bagpipes while doing it!

I think if oryx had a dash meter rather than dash charges his gameplay would be smoother, like instead of 3 small dashes he can chain it into one long dash. maybe a meter that has 7 seconds, and starting a dash consumes 2 seconds instantly, so he'll still have 3 short dashes or he can hold the ability button an consume the meter for a longer dash. running into a wall could reset the dash timer to 0 to balance it out a bit more. I guess with this he should then also have the ability to make slight turns while he's dashing.

give sledge the Barring-9. The SMG-11 just makes him more picked for fragging. Make him 3 speed. This is a design I have thought should be in the game since they have gone the 3 ops doing the same thing Vert Ops Sledge - Up close and personal, The slowest vert Op Buck - Ranged and Versatile Can go up to down and down to up Ram - Most destructive Doesnt need to be there to do it. "Set it and forget it" Op. With this design which is fine Slege should be a 3 speed and his Hammer should be faster maybe even give him the Can openers, buck offers the most versatile soft vert play and is fine where he is now (Think Ace vs Therm). Ram having a Set it and forget it style vert where she is the safest doing it is fine she should be slowest out off all.

they should just rework Sledge's Hammer to allow for it to be kept out and slightly increase its range. the Frag nerf never should have happened, they could have just reduced the damage through surfaces heavily and maybe reduced damage to people but now they are just worse than flashbangs. i wish Ubisoft would just buff everything to be level rather than continue to heavily Nerf things and then Nerf things that are slightly better. 1.5 or Acog scopes wouldn't have mattered as much if the Opperators just were stronger but now they make or break a OP. they are gonna do something stupid like Take Doc's acog pretty soon and that might be the nail in the coffin, at least they buffed the terrible OP sledge so now he's just mid.

Honestly Oryx imo is still the worst op on defence. He just has no genuine reason to be used (montagnes shield getting nerfed was a huge cherry on top) he’s still a good roamer and has nothing to lose in dying, but that’s it…

i think oryx dash should be a lot quieter he already has no real ability so he is useless when you use his dash and the entire enemy team hears his exact location and just cooks him

I wonder if a stamina meter could change up sledge, a secondary resource that regens on its own. It's depleted by his hammer swings so when beginning to breach, he'd do it faster than he does now, but his swing speed/ergonomics decrease proportionally with stamina. It would give him more in the moment impulse, but subsequent swings would be slower. This would increase his entry potential while discouraging just peeling the entire floor open. Ik he's a "starter" of so making him more complicated isn't in the cards to keep him that way ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯ Secondary bonus, he'd be better at getting sledgehammer kills tjanks to the swing speed buff when rested Lore wise, iirc his sledgehammer is notoriously heavy, so thats a possible justification. Give him his smg back too! Ergo is grossly overlooked imo as a whole. It would be cool to see what would happen if switch speed hinges on what you're switching to, so pistols draw the fastest, then smgs, then shotgun/ar, then lmg, and this is retained for gadgets like the phone. So support would be able to be a bit snappier by using their pistols, better able to react/deploy at the expense of firepower while frontliners would have to more carefully pick their fights if their heavier weapons impede on their gadget deployment or rely on their team.
