KUDUNG

Kudung tells the story of the extraordinary events surrounding the passing of one of the highest lamas in Tibetan Buddhism, the 14th Shamarpa. 2500 years ago the Buddha foretold, "In the future, a great being with a red crown will come to alleviate the suffering of many.” The incarnate lineage of the Shamarpas, also known as the red crown lamas, brought this incredible prediction to fruition.
Tens of thousands of people from all over the world joined in celebrating Shamar Rinpoche’s life, while his body made the journey from Germany where he died, to India and Bhutan, and finally to Kathmandu where he was cremated. The teachings and insight of this incredible teacher tangibly permeate the narrative, intertwined by high ranking Buddhist lamas who knew him best, as well as the filmmaker, who shares his own fascinating journey of life changing personal evolution.

Thank you for this! Shamar Rinpoche visited the DWBSF center before he died. He asked us if we had any questions . No one did. “Anybody?!” He exclaimed . “ No one has any questions? Are you sure?” He taught us about death . He said that people get very upset when someone dies , but for the one that dies it is like changing clothes and we should not be upset. He then asked us to meditate with him and shared something with us that was quite profound in a direct way without a word spoken.

What makes you cloth your hope into past tense? 🥰 use present tense for real effect 😁 Your body is real and can not follow you into not realms. Not realms are dreams of hurt for the body. As long as you travel with your body respect the feelings your wording provokes. Brains of this body, stop negativity altogether!!! You are weakening the body in which you are thinking! So called " Buddhists" always have something to say. This movie was beautifully laid out, even the director explaining at the beginning how this was created and how it started..and he shares his precious connection w Shamarpa. Is it not heart touching to hear how dharma brothers and sisters experience these rare opportunities with our Teachers? We should be happy for others. And so what if he is 'self-celebrating"? He is overjoyed with love and is sharing with us, and sadly you see that in another way. Self celebrating should be encouraged anyways with all the pain and suffering going on in the world we should support people who are following their dreams instead of being easy to judge. He worked hard for so very long for this movie, and it only took you a minute to make a senseless comment. As part of our Sangha I am honored to watch and hear everyones testimony to Shamar Rinpoches Legacy. The director executed this movie well, even the music he personally created flowed beautifully. We should be grateful and support people like him who are dedicating their lives in helping preserve and continue our lineages' legacy from more generations to come to see. This powerful movie was destined for the director to create. Im sure Shamar Rinpoche is proud of him.

This is a topic separate from playing video--- after China captured HH Dalai Llama's discovery of the boy who is the Panchen Lama (the young boy who was withdrawn from all public view and has been called the youngest political imprisonment in the world), China developed their own Panchen Lama-- now allowing to travel and teach. The great irony is then there's this new Chinese named Pansion Lama (this refers to the China-selected young man has studied his whole life,) his study must come to some insightful knowledge about Buddhism which may be beyond Chinese control. Ironically, by China creating its own Panchen Lama, it's also created what could become a great Buddhist teacher.
