I have three pairs of KUIU Kutana Stretch Woven Pants and they don't come true to size in my opinion. I use a 38" pant size and I have to order KUIU pants in size 40", 38's being too small. Otherwise they are great, I just came back from a two week trip to South Dakota where it was still quite cold and the Kutanas were outstanding.

Negatives I found is that the side pockets opening are on the narrow side, and the pant picks up burrs. Besides that, I would recommend it.

great review! if i wear a base layer pant under and these like you do will i be ok in 5*-20* cold windy weather?
@MountainVenture7 жыл бұрын
In my experience, the pant with a base layer was adequate while hiking in single digits with light wind. I have not tested them at that temperature while glassing or in a tree stand. If you are stationary in 5-20* windy conditions you will likely need to experiment with varying weights of base layers. Good luck and enjoy the adventure!

How are they through thorns

Thanks, I got one this yr. So far great. On a side note does your KUIU pack squeak and creek while hiking?
@MountainVenture6 жыл бұрын
ryan at steelandsander no squeaking on my KUIU 5200 or 3200. I’ve heard this has been an issue though and I’ve seen some fixes on KZbin.

Comfortable but picks up tons of thorns

i like the quality but they are far too baggy and the size of the pants legs at the shins/ankles are too large. they may fit a 32 inch waist fine. at a 36 inch waist, they are far too baggy.

How are they holding up?
@MountainVenture3 жыл бұрын
I just wore them last weekend on a snowshoe overnighter. I love these pants in cold weather. In the summer I wear the Tiburon pant.

Are these guys pretty stretchy?
@MountainVenture5 жыл бұрын
Andrew Heichel they have a 4 way stretch material that is very comfortable for hiking.

How do these pants do in the rain?
@MountainVenture5 жыл бұрын
Alex McConnell they come with a DWR type treatment so they are water resistant in light rain. However, like any DWR treatment it wears off after a few washings and will need to be retreated.

Mountain Venture awesome.. thanks for the response.

@@MountainVenturewhat if u never wash them tho? Also what pants to u recommend wearing in a SHTF situation? Thanks.
@MountainVenture11 ай бұрын
@@9770G if you don’t wash the pant, the DWR will definitely last longer. I often wear the pants for multiple days - as long as two weeks on a long hunt or backpacking trip - without washing. They hold up great and don’t stink.

@@MountainVenture what do u recommend for SHTF pants?

So there is one thing left out of this review. As an outdoor pant they should not be made of a polyester that is in no way resistant to fire. I absolutely loved mine right up til a small ember snapped out of the fire and landed on my left side crotch area. Burned a hole straight through before I could even swipe it away. I will never purchase another set of these again. What a waste.
