I just wanted to thank you guys SO much for all of your technique videos. The amount of information you go over and share is infinitely more than any hunter is willing to share at the parking post! I recently invested in some quality glass and this is by far the most well-put together, comprehensive video out there on glassing techniques for almost any species of game. The KUH guys are first class and the information you share is top notch, its really helping me advance my game and hone my chase. Thanks a LOT!

Nice information. One thing I was wondering is what about tripod head selection? Should I get a ball head, pan head, or fluid head? Ball head are super light but have no handle. Pan heads have a handle but are a little heavier. Fluid heads can be light, but have different attachments mainly for camcorders. What do you guys suggest? Any specific head in mind?

I can't speak for Jay, but there are a number of photography-oriented pan-tilt heads that are relatively lightweight, but still allow you to use a small handle. Manfrotto makes some good stuff. Feel free to contact Jay directly--his website is in the video description.

From my experience, a ball head is extremely frustrating in a hunting scenario. The pan-tilt head makes it easy to grid a mountainside. The Micro Pan Head from outdoorsmans.com is super smooth and relatively light weight. Just my 2 cents....

@@kuiuultralight I really like the Dolica ball head tripod. It also has a hook on the bottom of the main body and you can hang a water bottle from it and it helps keep the tripod stable in wind.

Great tips! Ethics question; If you are heading to a spot that you want to glass from and someone is there do you stay or go to a different spot?

Outdoorsman. They are made in Prescott and sold from outdoorsmans in Fountain Hills AZ. Check out the website and give them a call. They are a great group. Super helpful and friendly.

Why dnt you use outdoorsmans tripod??
@kuiuultralight6 жыл бұрын
Jay specifically DOES recommend Outdoorsman's aluminum tripods at 38:16. For carbon, he uses Slik.
