Tutor and his daughter don.t show the least stategic thinking common in royal courts. How can they miss that maybe Lin is scheming for the throne, that Siyu.s Family has got military powers. He is a tutor who should know about such plots. He surely isn.t the brightest but an honourable man at the same time
