The main problem with Kuki is their land holding pattern like jamindari system. While other tribes have community land holding system, in Kuki areas you can only stay as long as the chief is pleased with you. Even educated and well to do Kukis don't want to stay under those chief due to which they keep expanding creating conflict with other communities. On the other hand the chiefs will settle foreigners in Kuki areas who will please them by all means.

For those "Kukis from Poppyland" who don't understand Manipuri, here are some of the key points: - Kuki community never existed in Manipur. Kukis exists only in Burma/Myanmar, they are also known as Chin cummunity in Myanmar. - In Manipur, they formed an umbrella named "Kuki" which include some old inhabitants of Manipur which are close to the Kuki/Chin community of Myanmar. - They fabricated/distorted their history as a part of their plan for the present violence. - Anglo-Kuki war never happened. It was just a small strike/protest against the British led by a Meitei who persuaded some so-called kukis to support him in the protest. - The so-called Kukis came only in 1881. - The old inhabitants allowed settlement of illegal Kuki influx from Myanmar by charging a mere Rs. 3000. - Old inhabitants bring Kuki mercenaries from Myanmar to wage war against the Meiteis as they are nowhere compared to the Meiteis. - Almost all Kukis organizations in Manipur are led by Burmese organizations led by Burmese. - Meiteis are the first inhabitant of Churachanpur since time immemorial. There are written records. - Kukis started the present war after a long planning with Myanmar based kuki militant groups in Manipur. - Their pastors hold Bible in their hands, but never raise a voice against the poppy planters. - Almost all the hills in Churanchanpur are now used for poppy cultivation. "Dampi area" is the epicenter of poppy and other anti-social activities. - .....
