Rizeli Atma Türkü Master Efendioğlu Included In UNESCO's 'Living Treasure' List
Rizeli poet included in the list of living human treasures, Atma türkü master Osman Efendioğlu, Rize Governor Erdogan Bektaş visited his office.
The convention for the protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage was adopted by UNESCO in 2003 and Turkey became a party to this convention in 2006. Osman Efendioğlu, one of the last Masters of Atma Türkü, an important place in the culture of Rize, which was included in the list of living human treasures prepared in this context, visited the governor of Rize, Erdoğan Bektaş, in his office.
Stating that he knows ninety percent of the folk songs sung in Rize and that these folk songs will be collected in a book, Osman Efendioğlu said, “Atma folk song is a word atma, an art of taşbih. I have contributed to many folk poets in order to pass this culture on to future generations. While making this contribution, I saw the greatest support from our governors who served in Rize. In that sense, I thank all our governors,” he said.
Expressing his satisfaction with the visit, Rize Governor Erdogan Bektas said: “First of all, I thank you for taking care of our cultural heritage and congratulations on your inclusion in UNESCO's list of living human treasures. Atma folk song art is a difficult art. You will not injure, tire or upset while you perform. You do this with secularism and you take care of our culture by raising students. You also contribute to the promotion of Rize. The fact that the folk songs in your repertoire are also collected in a book is a great service for our culture.”

ahmet abiyle 2015 de rizede rastgele kapısından içeri girdiğimiz bi gel daa isimli bir restaurantta tanıştık. kendisi o kadar naif bir adamdı ki biz oraya canlı müzik saatinden önce gitmemize rağmen sırf misafiriz yabancıyız diye bize atma türkü söyledi videosu hala durur ,eşime horon öğretti o akşam. 2018 yılında vefat haberini duyduk ve hayatımızda sadece bir defa gördüğümüz bir insan için nasıl üzüldük anlatamam :((((( mekanın cennet olsun abi :(((
