Polina is a very talented singer. The song is a cover from Viktor Zoy, who was a big star in russia and died in a car accident in the 90s. Kukushka was one of the last songs he wrote before his death and it was part of the "Black Album" of his band "Kino". The tile means simply "cuckoo". The song is about personal decisions in life and the question what to do with it.. it also reflects on the time in the old sowjet russia where you didn't really had a voice and Viktor's songs were always politically provokativ.. a reason, why many fans believed that his car accident didn't happend "out of the blue".. anyway the song was covered many times by different singers. Polinas version is also on the soundtrack to Red Sniper. The movie is about Ljudmila Michailowna Pawlitschenko, a russian sniper who killed over 300 nazis in WW2. There is a music clip on youtube with scenes from the movie. Here the song lyrics in english (sorry my english is not perfect, I did my best): How many songs remain unwritten? Tell me, cuckoo, sing Should I go big or stay unknown? Lay still like a stone or shine bright like a star Like a star My sun, look at me My hand turned into a fist And if there's gunpowder, give me fire That's how it is Who will follow my lonely path? The strong and brave ones lost their lives On the battlefield, in fight Only few of them remained in our memory Sober-minded, with the steady hand in line In line My sun, look at me My hand turned into a fist And if there's gunpowder, give me fire That's how it is Where are you now, my liberal freedom Who are you meeting sweet sunrise with Tell me It's good to live with you and hard without you The quiet ones keep their heads down The loud ones end up under the whip under the whip My sun look at me My hand turned into a fist And if there's gunpowder, give me fire It's like this

The name of the song means cuckoo, bird. There is belief, if someone heard how many times the bird does cuckoo sound, it means so many year remains to live. In the song was asking of cuckoo: how many remains, how many song remains to write. The song is famous and popular singer and song writer Victor Tsoi. Very epic song, song is pure in Russian.

From my experience Russian women are among the most beautiful in the world, but Polina not only looks like an angel, but also sings like one. As far as I know, her vocal range is G3 - D5. For comparison, Floor Jansen (soprano) of Nightwish has a vocal range of C3 - F6 & Noa Gruman (soprano) of Scardust has a range of C2 - G6. P.S. Here's more female beauty & vocal talent from Ukraine with one of the best country/blues rock songs ever by a female artist, originally sung by CANADIAN singer/songwriter Alannah Myles: Julia Ivanova - Black Velvet (Alannah Myles cover) kzbin.info/www/bejne/bn7CYZKEpbmokKc P.S.S. Should you want something more spectacular, this Romanian lady might just be like that. She records her vocals in her bedroom & makes also the amazingly beautiful music videos by herself: Lara Fabian - ADAGIO | cover by Andra Ariadna kzbin.info/www/bejne/sGfXomepd5uJmbM

The woman who looks like Hillary Clinton is named Valentina Matvienko. She is the presiding officer of the Upper house of the Russian parliament. The Chairman of the Federation Council is the third most important position after the President and the Prime Minister. In the case that both the President and the Prime Minister are incapacitated, the Chairman of the upper house of the Russian parliament becomes Acting President of Russia.

OH! I remember Polina!! She represented Russia in 2015 at Eurovision singing A Million Voices. She did an amazing job and, if memory serves me right, she finished second. You should totally check it out. Now that I mention it, you should check out Eurovision entries in general. And if you don't know what I'm talking about, it's a song contest that has been held since the fifties. Every participating country sends a singer who must perform an original song and the viewers and jury vote on the winner. There are compilations of all the Eurovision winners since the beginning and you will see some familiar faces! ;) There are also people who didn't win but still became famous, like Lara Fabian, Olivia Newton-John or Julio Iglesias, for example. PS. If you do end up listening to A Million Voices, you will hear some booing in the crowd. This was due to the invasion of Crimea by Russia the year before the contest, they were not directed at Polina.

Hello! Unfortunately, you don't pronounce Polina Gagarina's last name correctly. Incorrectly put the emphasis. Russian Russian accent is very important for the Russian language and for Russian surnames. In fact, it is very easy to pronounce. She has the same last name as the first cosmonaut of the Earth - Yuri GagArin (of course you know him). Yuri GagArin. His last name sounds here kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZqwkmNpd6ajmbM and here at 0: 13 kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJy5cqSEl71jhNk Yuri GagArin. (emphasis on the second letter A). Similarly, Polina GagArina. (emphasis on the second letter A). For women, the letter "a" is added at the end of the last name. Her last name is pronounced correctly here at 1: 51: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5u4o6topJWVg6s and here 2: 52 kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5mTeYKpbMlra5I Thank You :)
