Everybody saying Corruption, but what about the CULTURE ?

Served the DepEd for almost 8 years as a classroom teacher. I finally decided to leave because teachers like me, who ask questions and challenge the policies, are encouraged to leave as the "door is wide open." The department wanted its teachers to be blind followers. So happy tho to have found a country like Taiwan that values teachers by giving a compensation that is at least 4 times bigger than what we receive back home. Currently, the community of Filipino English Teachers here keeps growing. In our city alone, 60% of the Foreign English Teachers are Pinoys. And these teachers are some of the best back home. They chose to leave the Philippines because they never felt "valued" there.

Focus kasi sa sing and dance, gowns, marjorettes, group dance , school beauty pageants, Filipino grammar instead of Filipino prose and poetry writing, walang katapusang Araw ng Sining, Wikipedia, United Nations Day. Walang Critical Thinking, Debate or Oratory. Walang katapusang kartolina projects. Public schooling sa Pinas, pag5abas ng damo

Again it's a stupid comparison between canada and pinas. Overpopulated po ang Pinas ang konti lang ng tao sa Canada so what would you expect re classroom ratio? Plus 3rd world tayo so how can you fund additonal classrooms and teachers to decrease ratio? Common sense.

I do appreciate honest discussion about the circumstances of the Philippines. Creative skills as well as critical thinking skills are the key elements required to achieve a better educational system.

so sad what has happened to our education system back home and just thinking the adverse effects to the next generation of Filipinos is disheartening. Hoping a major overhaul can be done soon to slow if not prevent this slide.

If you want to reverse labor export in the immediate you have to increase wages as incentive for highly skilled workers to stay here and you have to also subsidize growing or promising industries that will hire these skilled workers.

You need more favorable constitutional and legal frameworks for both local and foreign investors to be enticed to put up businesses and generate jobs for everyone where overseas migration will become a matter of choice, not necessity to attain middle class life.

Marami narin holidays at lagi wala klase. And lots of teachers maybe not that intelligent to handle students. On the part of the students they lack discipline 😢

In a way totoo. Sa kabataan ngayon mas preferred nila na madalas walang face to face classes. Everything is done for them.
