Clang Garcia conducts a culinary workshop as a community-based program for Mangyan indigenous cultural communities of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro. This is a collaborative program of the Department of Tourism MIMAROPA and Office Industrial Manpower Development and Municipality of San Jose.
The preparation, cooking, and food presentation took place in Sitio Bato-Ili, a sprawling landscape of splendor where the Buhid Mangyan dwells. The Hanunoo Mangyan brought all their ingredients and cooking tools to the site as part of the workshop.
Get a snippet of the rich cultures of Hanunoo and Buhid Mangyan as they present their indigenous crops, cooking techniques, and cuisines. A timely celebration for National Indigenous Peoples Month.
Food highlights: Inasimang agurong at baboy, kurot o nami, logo (lugaw) mula sa palay kaingin at manok gubat, at iba pa!
