It genuinely made me smile, halfway through the video I realised I was grinning from ear to ear. There is something about the correct representation of the pahadi culture that makes me want to give up my life of cities and go back in my hamlet and live among the pines and deodar. Every time I watch your video, I question myself if I really want to have ambitions and a career or I just want to live in my hometown and start working on my far-fetched goal of being a writer. I luckily happened to be at Haridwar this Janmashtami and my God, it was such a vibrant posse of colors. I came down from the valley of flowers and as if I saw the colors all over again as toddler Krishna waltzed at the feet of Hari. It's something many disapprove of citing as uncouth and borderline vulgar but what isn't and who decides! I saw so many Veds of Tamashha wasting themselves away at shoddy wooden platforms putting smiles on faces, otherwise famished. It's a fanfare which gives this country it's character and color and I couldn't help clapping and smiling ear to ear when a colorful Nataraaj danced danced to 'jio re Bahubali'.

Lord Ragunath invites deities from all over Himachal Pradesh to visit and celebrate Dusshera. More than 200 deities arrive here and the whole scene is immensely crazy with these deities(Palki) jumping, moving here and there. The experience is just surreal seeing gods playing around and just ecstatic to meet each other.

The who idea of deity being treated as the ruler of a territory is also found in the Jaunsar-Bawar region of Uttarakhand. Like Lord Raghunath is the ruler of Kullu. Lord Mahasu is the ruling deity of Jaunsar Bawar. The similarities between Himachal and Uttarakhand are so mind-boggling at times that it's almost impossible to tell the two cultures apart.
