I once was at a crafting camp as a kid (smithing etc) at an old farm in the middle of nowhere in north of Sweden. One morning I woke up early 4 or 5 in the morning, and I heard a strange melody coming from outside. So I went to the window and looked out at this small field surrounded by the forest and covered in mist. I saw this woman who sang this type of melody (kulning) She walked across the field barely visible in the fog, then she disappeared into the forest on the other side of the field. It was a surreal moment that has stayed with me, also I remember how cold my bare feet were against the wooden floor. It was both frightening and enchanting at the same time.

I cried. I’m learning this technique also. The farmer who lives by me has allowed me to practice with his herd of cows whenever I would like, although I don’t do it unnecessarily. It was an incredible moment when they first came to me, and I heard my voice echoing through the emptiness. I love to pet and stroke the cows who get to me first while waiting for the others to get to me. I am not Scandinavian, I live in the uk countryside but this technique has intrigued me for so long. I feel such a deep connection with the animals. Sometimes my cats also come running, and I gently stroke them and say “I love you, but I wasn’t calling for you” ☺️

Mellifex Maybe in the past but imo it is another religion nowadays destroying European cultures everywhere. The blow things and people up en masse, along with themselves. Two guesses what I am talking about. They are extremely demanding. They come here to then demand that their religion will be put above our secularity. They scream in the name of Allah and kill in his name. Of course, not all. But the extreme ones are extreme enough to die for their cause. It is them who we should worry about now.

@escaramujo3 жыл бұрын
The only reason the cows react to her voice is because they are familiar with her.I know you won't understand this, but until pretty recently cows were treated with this kind of respect and, at some clusters of traditional herders, are still treated like that. Cancelling all the farms with cows is cancelling the culture of respectfully exploding a resource. The life of the herders is tied to their animals. If the cows grow old and start to get sick and don't produce enough milk, they need to sacrifice them (both for mercy and for practicality): if there are too many old cows in the fields, there won't be food for more young cows, the balance will break, ALL the cows will die as well as the herders.
