This is the third movie of the Kumano Kodo series!
This time I walked 70km of Kohechi in 3 days.
Kohechi is a pilgrimage route that connects the two major sacred sites, Koyasan, the head temple of Shingon Esoteric Buddhism, and Kumano Hongu, one of the three Kumano Sanzan, in the shortest distance, and is said to be one of the most rugged routes among the Kumano pilgrimage routes.
This time, I stayed at a mountain hut at Obako Pass on the first day, and at an inn at Totsukawa Onsen on the second day.
Other than the fact that the mountain hut was so cold that I almost died in the middle of the night, the weather was good and I reached Kumano Hongu without any major trouble.
This time it was more difficult than the previous two Nakahechi trips in terms of distance and height difference, but the good season made it feel easier.
The remaining parts of the Kumano Kodo are Ohechi, Kiiji, Iseji, and Omine-Okugakemichi. Now, where should I walk next?
