Honestly that moment where kumiko steps forward to reassure the entire band, and in the process, heals Mayu from her trauma while letting her finally feel accepted in her wish to simply be herself and play music at her best. It's extremely beautiful and emotional, and it completes Kumiko's entire character arc. It's just holy crap......
the hibike euphonium/asuka's solo leitmotif soundtrack reaching its peak during kumiko realizing what she has to do as president... i love this arc for her so much even if it is bittersweet. I love that even if she acts as president and defends mayu here... we still see her break down with reina in private. Like what band member wouldnt lol

It’s the same soundtrack during the Kaori vs Reina audition
I pause after the performance of both and I personally think that the first one is the better soli for the upcoming Nationals. It just so good to listen to, of the combination of sounds of Reina with Mayu. And I don't mind KyoAni changing this part because for me this episode is a masterpiece 10/10. I'm so excited for the last episode❤️
For me with no mucical knowledge, I really like the first one. It sound strong and keep up with Reina's sound. The second one sound like it is just staying behind to make Reina sound more stronger/visible.

I actually like the second one better but that’s just my preference. I think both performances are good but the vote was about which performance is more suited to win gold medal at Nationals. Remember that all the talented musicians in the show (Taki-sensei, Reina, Sapphire, etc.) already said that both Kumiko and Mayu are equally talented and it was a difficult decision for Taki-sensei during the Kansai Regionals audition so, this time, he decided to give the agency back to the band. • The first one is practically trumpet leading the way with euphonium supporting accordingly. Think of it as a chef and a sous chef effortlessly providing dinner services. • The second performance is basically a duet between two equal voices. I actually feel like this performance poignantly portrays a tearful yet powerful dialogue between two individuals who are departing. I think they picked up the first performance because it is more suitable as a competition soli (wherein perfect technicality is valued) but the second one is more of a concert soli (wherein liberty can be taken). Overall, I’m disappointed that Kumiko lost again but this was a fair addition. I feel like Kumiko will gain much more after losing this solo.

@@ThePerksdeLeSarcasmeSiorai Nice insight. Although I cant relate it with the show haha. I remember some KZbinr had dissect on how Reina win over Kaori before. I need the same with this audition.

@@ThePerksdeLeSarcasmeSiorai I dont have any musical experience either, but I thought that the second performance was nicer. I thought it had more "emotion"
I prefer the 2nd one. it was more expressive than the first one. Maybe i am not experience enough, i read the comments below. why cant 2 solos be on par? why must trumpet shine and euphonium be the compliment? both solos are singing to each other, they should be both on par and expressive for me
@Argomzichi3 ай бұрын
Yeah you're right. The 2nd one was infact more expressive and is also what I prefer. But I realized overtime the 1st one was more calm and understanding of the trumpet solo, which resonated more than the 2nd one. Sad, but I'm happy they got gold

If I remember right this was the first time in season 3 that they used the soundtrack version of "Hibike! Euphonium". Overall in this ep every chosen soundtrack was amazing. I am really unhappy with the outcome. But I don't hate Mayu.

I would love to have this hibike euphonium version I can’t stop crying this episode was so good. I don’t want this to end 😭🥹
Cambias el final de la novela, Kumiko no toca el solo pero a cambio ganan el oro en la Nacional. Un precio justo y necesario para el desarrollo ya no solamente de Kumiko sino de Taki y Kitauji también.

Spoilers: I really wanted kumiko to play the part with Reina!

I also think she really would have deserved it. Not only bc she worked so hard the past years but also she’s as good as mayu in my opinion. Without knowing I would have chosen her. (the second player)

To me this show ended in season 2. I can't have that gloomy and emotional season 3 with no rewards for the main character who gave up to kindness and became bland just for the same of Anime production. Why they changed the Novel ending. For controversy or talks? Plus in my view season 2 upped the first one and has best relationship arc for main character where she gets positive growth. Season 3 turns it to negative growth. Season 1 Kumiko and Reina relation was best but Season 2 Kumiko and Asuza relation including patching with her sister and becoming more aggressive was worth watching. But sadly even though season 3 was worth watching and emotional it takes away those things and gives us a gloomy relationship between Kumiko and Mayu. Not that I care for rewardless season even if it was emotional and nerve racking. Like even though she was talented and experienced the show made her to become kind and she gave up thinking about regrets. Season 3 was too much dependent on her kindness. That's why I still prefer the original source ending no matter how much difference this negative growth gives. Even though when sensei is saying she is also capable to play the solo. I can't understand why Anime directors think otherwise. This just makes sensei a horrible person to even consider giving her a chance thinking she is at same level and then Reina for not choosing her cause she made mistakes in Anime audition. Otherwise sensei should have choosen Mayu in the first place if she was always better. Sad ending with Kumiko glommy face for all 13 episodes gives me more of a reason to think that rewardless ending with fake growth where she gives up even before trying to become special is not what original author can come up with. Unless they wanted to write something else from the very start and gave up in the end themselves. Giving up on becoming something speical is different from giving up playing music with your special friend. Obviously, first two seasons made me think she understands good and bad music and also wants to play freely and she only needed some confidence and goal to play as freely like Asuza, who can play music without thinking. But 3rd season was like all that we saw in two seasons were just nothing. She is not capable enough and can not even try to become better and after constant nagging and mean comments, she gave up and became kind person on the outside as well. Is is only me who thinks compared to first 2 seasons new characters in 3rd season were more mean and confrontational. If they were not like that I am sure I would have accepted a new ending from Anime. Due to new ending all that frustration that Kumiko did not show and gave up to kidness made me feel frustrated and gloomy. More than sadness it gives a bad feeling. I mean I already accepted she cannot be special but I never expected the show to take away that bittersweet feeling from first 2 seasons as well.

The idea behind her loss was that it brings out the character development of Kumiko and Mayu. The story began focusing on Kumiko’s development not as a player but as a person. We didn’t see as much of her playing compared to her dedication to the meritocracy the band established since season 1. Considering that we also didn’t see her focus on music and technique it wouldn’t make sense to have her win. If she got the soli the audience would be questioning why. Having Mayu lose would just make her a plot device to cause drama. However, with Mayu’s backstory we can see she is scared of showing her ability because her past friend left her because Mayu was a better player. Having Mayu win then Kumiko, through the frustration of losing, tell the band that this is the decision as their goal is to win gold connects their development. Mayu is no longer just a plot device but a character that adds to the nuance of the story. Reina stays true to herself and her desire to make Kituaji the best they can be. This is what Kumiko finds so special about her. The idea of this final season was not to make everything happy and rainbows, but to establish the idea of whether or not you stay true to yourself even when you fail. That is what makes the decision to have Mayu win the soli so special.
After watching 2 seasons I felt I can watch this whole show as many times. But sadly the normal ending they changed from Novel did worse. I feel like watching Kumiko getting torn whole 3rd season never to get rewarded mentally apart from the character growth and making us feel sad just by chaging pure fantasy show to realism was a bit too much. No way if I watched this show again I can watch more than 2 seasons. I don't know why people wanted to change the ending but I am sure many viewers watch drama to get the feel of fantasy and not realism. At least most of the time it is true. And even though they gave a wonderful development in the end, it did not matched the tone of first two seasons which was filled with 90% fantasy moments. I don't care about realism. They needed to follow the original source and showed us the rewarding show. For sure they got a good cry from viewers but at the cost of not wanting to relive this moment again. Maybe in old age we might be able to appreciate this but for now this is pure betrayal of fantasy. Why did Kumiko got so much attention in first 2 season by making her involved in every act, and then suddenly Anime writers decided to let her luck run out in the end for 1 good episode. I really can't watch the show again. It was a very excellent show till date I have seen in drama with many mangeable major flaws in writing from the start.
Please don't say that. Reina never betrayed Kumiko.

@@warcatbattalion Renia just chose the best player. This is also what Kumiko wants. The problem of Renia is, if she'd like to play soli with Kumiko.
