In this video I test the Kung Fu Flash, an interface that is connected to the Commodore 64 expansion port and ... can emulate different types of cartridges.
The project, by Kim Jorgensen, is open source: on GitHub, you can easily find both the hardware and software projects. It is also possible to purchase the interface already assembled and with the 3D printed case.
The Kung Fu Flash is a programmable cartridge, equipped with a microSD slot, and supports these file types:
- CRT (copies of the ROMs of the original cartridges, including the Action Replay and the diagnostic cartridges Dead Test and 586220);
- PRG and P00 (programs made in Basic, games or utilities);
- D64, D71 and D81 (the floppy disk image files).
At the moment, the Kung Fu Flash can only read files and does not support write operations.
All the steps of the test are listed here (in Italian): www.valoroso.it/kung-fu-flash...
