@@izukumidoriya8600 It would be cool if Tai Lung could come back some how. He is such a badass character, and even though it's cliché as fuck, him getting a redemption arc would be great. He was the most sympathetic of the villains and in the end seemed like Po in terms being insecure & wanting validation that he felt Shifu didn't give and could only be found in the scroll.

Tai Lung in my opinion was a great villain, but not in the evil sense. He was abound by his family, found and raised to be a fighter, the dragon warrior. He train hard, so hard to the point his bones broke but he keep at it, his Master being the only reason why he kept at it, filling his head with wonders and promises of the dragon warrior. Sadly he became too dangerous, too ruthless, too impulsive. His Master completely failing to teach him self control and discipline. Too blinded by what he could be, not seeing what he was becoming. When he time came for him to be appraised by Oogway, he instantly sensed the darkness in his heart and said he wasn't worthy. His Master didn't protest Oogway's decision and left it at that. This destroyed Tai Lung to the core, the one person he drove his own destiny for years abandoned him at his moment of glory, just like his parents, at least in Tai Lung eyes this is what he saw. In a fit of rage he attacked the villagers, the very people he was supposed to attack, then attack His Master and Oogway where he was defeated and sent to be imprisoned for life. Master Shifu accidentally created a monster, too blinded by the opportunity to train someone to become the dragon warrior, he trained him extremely hard, pushed him even harder, without seeing what he was creating. Tai Lung is a story of tragedy.

If you're mad at Oogway for leaving in the first movie, I'm so upset no one bothered to specify: he didn't leave because he wanted to, he literally left because he HAD to: his time in the mortal realm was over and he now had to pass on the legacy to Shifu and Po. It must be some Chinese tradition, idk I'm not an expert. My point is, don't stay mad at Oogway.
@robindude81872 жыл бұрын
... Leaving? Dude, Oogway _died._ It's not like he was just going somewhere else for the giggles. He _died_ in that movie. Getting mad at Oogway 'leaving' makes as much sense as getting mad at _Yoda_ for 'leaving' in Return of the Jedi.
@omnipresentl13162 жыл бұрын
Okay gonna have to stop you on that Tai Lung was bad for the sake of being bad. Tai Lung worked his whole life for something his adopted father told him he was destined for only to find out that he wasn't and when Oogway said so Shifu did nothing and accepted it. Tai Lung was crushed and obsessed with what he believed was HIS destiny and his position. He knew nothing else besides what he had worked for. It's like you were adopted as a baby by this man, he sees your natural talent and love for the sport, tells you you're destined for greatness and success, you train yourself to the ground for decades, you're told "no you are not special" and your father does nothing for it and decides "okay." This is what Shifu created and why he regrets it so much.
@kylerideout71082 жыл бұрын
I would have to agree, I actually feel the 3rd villain in Kai was one of the weakest, not in strength, but in the emotional aspect and his cause.
@SilverWolf442 Жыл бұрын
Adding to it was that Tai Lung's feelings of Shifu's betrayal. HIs parents already abandoned him. He finds a father figure in his master only to feel as though said Master's love & pride in him was conditional. Deep down, while Tai Lung had much pride & arrogance in his abilities, he very little to no pride in himself as a being. He has all the skills in the world but has never truly felt validated. He thought he needed the scroll to be all powerful to prove that he was somebody. Finally his line to Shifu can be interpreted another way. "All I ever did, I did to make you proud." There's the classic way I think we all interpret it at first. But listening to the entire argument, the line can be seen as a bitter accusation. Like accusing Shifu of using him for the sake of his own pride. "Everything I worked for was so you could have pride in training the dragon warrior "- feeling as though that's all Shifu wanted out of him with a love & pride that was very conditional. And Shifu not supporting him in his worst moment cemented that as far as Tai Lung was concerned. Tai Lung's ultimate problem was that he had no inner peace or validation, leading to him seeking everything externally.

No sequel has a new story, they continue the story line, so it feels like all three films are connected (which they are). Its about Po's life and growth. I always really liked how everything worked there and how sophisticated it was. When you take someone's chi and die, their chi returns to them. A lot of people didn't understand how Kai died, Po's chi didn't destroy him, but the fact that he was wearing a lot of them. Of course, you can take chi from a dragon warrior, but it's so strong that it's like wearing 10 of them, and if you wear some at that time and there are enough of them, it will destroy you. For example, some people don't understand how Jindiao in Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny could have so much chi without dying. It was because he was an ancient being and could own as much chi as he wanted, along with Po's chi. He was a dragon, so it's no wonder, dragons are magical and very powerful, and it was also because Jindiao was the first dragon warrior.
@itzangel93792 жыл бұрын
Now this is what i was thinking the WHOLE entire time in the movie, Kai can actually take all of them except for the Dragon's Chi, Its known to be too powerful to handle so its no use to take them, Also, Kai is already dead he's not a mortal anymore but the way in the end when Po defeated him I don't Kai is dead but he might be sent away from another realm (My dumbass thinking there's going to be another spirit realm when im not sure if Kai is dead already He died 2 times or maybe he's still alive lol)but y'know just my theory, This comment really think what i was thinking haha

One thing that a few creators have talked about (the one I know I won't give mention to, if you know you know), they pointed out how the trilogy follows Body, Mind, and Spirit/Soul. The first movie is where Po trains his body and that is what is focused on. The second movie is about his mental struggles with his acceptance of his past. Then the third movie focuses on his 'spirit' and learning chi. Learning who he truly is. It was super mind blowing when I heard that analogy the first time.

Another great detail that is hinted at is that Oogway likely wasn't always a good person like if you look at the names Kai was given "Beast of Vengeance" "Maker of widows" they arent the titles of a hero, more likely Kai and Oogway were warmongers and being healed by the pandas changed Oogways perspective and made him change. It relates to the second movie really well because it doesnt matter who Oogway was but what he chose to be and he chose to go against his brother in arms to do the right thing.

I think Curtis _massively_ misunderstands Oogway. His _whole_ dislike for the guy seems to stem from his assumption that Oogway had a _choice_ about dying. I wonder if he'd get mad at _Yoda_ for dying, too. People die, it happens. From how Oogway was looking off into the distance when Shifu arrived with the news of Tai Lung's escape, I'm guessing he'd worked out he just didn't have much time left. So he made sure to pass on whatever wisdom he could before death took him.
