Temur Khamitov but isn’t Superman vulnerable to magic, who better than Shang tsung to use magic Plus maybe the elder gods curse of aging doesn’t work in Superman’s universe which further increases Shang power

Superman is weak to magic, plus MKvsDC create a plot where the "Rage" that been spread by Dark Kahn is effecting the characters, making all of their strength unstable. That why here Shang Tsung manage to defeat Liu Kang. This is actually the first and only time Shang Tsung truly defeat Liu Kang in battle. Shang Tsung never won against Liu Kang whenever the fought. Even in Deadly Alliance, he was actually lost against Liu Kang. Only after Quan Chi sneaking attack Liu from behind that give Shang the opportunity to kill Liu Kang.
