End of august till mid september i went to the Kungsleden in Sweden for an amazing hike in a beautifull autumn scenery.

Heel erg leuk gemaakt, ook leuk dat je laat zien wat je zoal eet op zo’n tocht

Hi Harrie. Thanks for sharing your hike. Beautiful!! It looked like you had pretty good weather for September 👍🏻👍🏻. I will be hiking Kvikkjokk to Abisko in mid/late August. We are very similar in age. Do you have any helpful tips that you can offer? Cheers, Cary🇨🇦

Hello Cary, i did have nice weather most of the time. But three years back i had a lot of rain (about 70% of the three weeks) My tips would be: use the huts with shops for resupply, to save weight. And make sure that you have a good sleeping equipment to sleep warm and well. Three years ago i slept 10 hours per night and when i finished i was fit and eager to hike the whole way back, if i had the time. I also had a good rainsuit from Arc'teryx which "made my hike". But this time i had a tough last week, due to a lack of sleep and being tired. A good night sleep makes all the difference. O, and don't forget to bring a headnet. You'll be there on the turningpoint of the mosquito season. Have a nice hike and enjoy the preps. I hope to see some footage from you too 😃

Thank you very much for the feedback. I will keep all of your suggestions in mind👍🏻. I try to keep my base weight as light as possible. It is good to know the huts have shops. Also, I totally agree with you about good sleep and rain gear. I do not compromise on equipment for a good night’s sleep and keeping as dry as possible. Good to know about the bugs. Where I hike and camp in Ontario, the mosquitoes are not so bad by the start of August. I was not thinking I would need a bug net but sounds like a good idea. Once again, many thanks 👏🏼👏🏼

… and Arc’teryx rain gear is definitely worth the price. I can vouch for that too 👍🏻

Thanks 🙂 Three years ago it took me 19 days. This year i took some extra time, 23 days. I'm 59 by the way and reasonable fit. I brought food for a week with me. And bought along the trail the rest of my food in the huts and in the supermarkets in Jäckvikk and Ammarnäs
