Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is an action game played from a third-person perspective, and features elements from real-time strategy and tower defense games. In the game, the player assumes control of Soh, who is tasked to protect a divine maiden named Yoshiro who must "purge and cleanse" villages of "defilement" and return the legendary Mt. Kafuku to peace. Gameplay is divided into two different parts. Daytime is the preparatory phase in which Soh must explore the village and rescue villagers, as well as setting up various contraptions. At night, evil spirits named the "Seethe" will invade the village from Torii gates, and the player must ally with the rescued villagers to defend Yorshiro from hostile attacks until sunrise. Players can strategically place villagers in tactical positions, and assign them with different roles. For instance, a woodcutter is a powerful melee attacker, while an archer can provide ranged support. Players can also further equip Soh and the villagers with one of twelve masks that also grant them divine powers. The position and the roles of the villagers can also be changed during combat. If Soh becomes severely injured in the game, he will enter "Spirit mode", allowing him to continue issuing commands to other villagers.

Thanks for finishing the story for me. I just told myself there can be bad chapters in great book so i just skipped final boss. Now that i saw what phase 2 is i don't regret it. Shame that such a great game ends with such badly made boss.

Edit: Beat it after a few tries and the final boss however to unlock the true ending you have to beat NG+ and beat Cursed Soh to see the true ending The last level being a boss rush is really rough some of those fights I barely scraped by on them to do them all in a row before getting to see the final boss is messed up! That should have been an optional mode not forced for the final level

i did boss time challenges before that so it was a breeze lol. spam 3 tsuba guards into stunned state easy win

C'mon you can kill all of them in less than 1 minute. Use both tsuba guards that buffs villagers. All woodcutters. Get the upgrade that lets soh imunne to damage when he uses the dragon polls and BOOM. Easy peasy

​@@uwu-ge6oj easier way is to use 4 sorcerers, 3 shaman, and the rest be Marksman or cannoneer for the final boss. Makes him a Joke when you spam the Shikigami. Mind you phase 2 just run around and use your bow. Full charge and use Punishing strike. Also make sure to Not use your Rations on your troops, that's what the shaman are for.

Soh's face is oddly similar to that of Yoshiro. Just with a different hairstyle. I wonder why Soh is reincarnated as a human at the end though. Seeing Soh previously was a chosen soul summoned by Yoshiro's power, a Shikigami which in turn cannot sustain its physical body whenever Yoshiro's got directly affected by the Seethe or Defilement and will turn into a spirit form. Gameplay wise, it's a gimmick unique to Soh whenever their HP reaches zero. Meanwhile NPC villagers who got defeated by the Seethe will turn into a demonic cocoon instead of a wandering spirit.

I think he is not a human at the end. The whole game soh is there but nothing indicates villagers can see them. I believe that Soh is the last person who made the sacrifice. A messenger of the goddess.
