The reason behind the FF7 reference is because Edea was meant to appear in the said game but lacked space as per Yoshinori Kitase, the director of both 7 and 8. Presumably, _Premonition_ was written during FF7's development.

For all its flaws, this game manages to summon dread and different emotions on its soundtrack. Premonition, The Extreme and Force your Way remain to this day some of my favorite themes. The Griever is also dark and mysterious a track. They nailed everything with the music and the latent fear of facing something stronger than you this sound evokes makes it incredible.

My feeling on Ultimecia's origin is that she is indeed from the far future, but thanks to the events of FF8 the world knows there will one day be a Sorceress called Ultimecia who will go back in time and do awful things, such as trigger the Lunar Cry. Perhaps she wasn't even called Ultimecia, but she became a Sorceress somehow and finally, after much torment, snapped and said "Fine, I AM Ultimecia!". I sense some of this in her speech when she is possessing Edea, and giving a speech to Deiling City, maybe more so in the original translation: "We witches have lived in your fantasies for generations--foolish fantasies of your own creation. Witches garbed in terrible apparel, who curse and kill innocents with cruel rituals. They use merciless spells to burn green fields and freeze your warm hometowns... How boring. Do you breathe sighs of relief because the fearsome witch of your imagination is on your side? Which of us is the one that dreams, fantasy upon fantasy? Reality is not so sweet. Reality is never so sweet. So run, fools, into your fantasies. In the fevered world of your imagination will I dance for you! The witch of terror shall dance through all of eternity. You and I together will create the ultimate fantasy. In it even life and death are but an exquisite dream. Eternal be the witch and the fantasy! Eternal be Galbadia, her slave! ... Oh yes, an evil witch needs a sacrifice and a cruel ritual." So rather than the theory that Ultimecia is a grieving and insane Rinoa, which has never sat well with me anyway, I think she's a tragic figure who caused her undoing by trying to undo it. A self-fulfilling prophecy. With that in mind, she might be one of the more sympathetic villains of the FF series, but her mystique makes her really interesting to look into and research. So regardless of what the truth is, I hope more people learn to appreciate her character.

I wish if they remake FF8 they should include Seifer(Seifer,Fujin,Raijin party members) side story like Laguna story I think Seifer can get a character development and also Squall has four limit breaks but in the game we only see three limit breaks of seifer maybe unleash the forth limit and make him another character in the shadows(like killing another huge sorceress that may caused simillar trouble like Ultimecia)

Great artwork. Looking at Ultimecia and Rinoa side by side strengthens the fan theory that Rinoa becomes queen bitch of time kompression in the future. Their features are disturbingly similar.

Rinoa is Ultimecia and vice versa. What is sooo unbelievable about it? I almost want someone to logically (within plot of game mechanics) explain why Rinoa is Not Ultimecia. Can someone? Besides Squares' disclaimer saying she is not so to as to not overtly traumatize their fan base? Heh.

KAHFI Oke you do he did tracks for FFXI, XIV and XV DLC right? Plus the games all comes down to taste and personal opinion If your wondering when FF started to die, then FFX is the source. FFX introduced more to the series but at the same time remove and gave inspiration for the later installments.
