What is really weird is that there was no mention at all of De Stijl. Mondian was one of the key members and founders of this very imprtant Dutch movement that was founded while he lived in his home country during WW1. A movement that completely tranformed Mondriaan to the painter he became most known for. And also De Stijl had a HUGE influence on the German Bauhaus movement. With furniture by Gerrit Rietveld etc. It is really bizarre that these women didn't even mention such an important part of Mondrian's Dutch heritage. And the world wide influence of De Stijl on abstract art, architecture and furniture design..
