Thank you for your detailed remarks in this Final Lesson 25! They provide all of us, who were not fortunate enough to study with Sifu Kuo great insight into the man and a time capsule into the golden era while he was teaching. The revelations about yourself and why you have made these lessons free are very much appreciated, I'm sure by all who follow you! Thank you for your dedication and the time commitment you have made thus far to preserve Sifu Kuo's teachings, and plan to make in future lessons! I hope these lessons will be permanently available on KZbin.

As a 19-year-old newbie, I'd surreptitiously watch my older brothers and sisters as I did my warmups and beginner moves, eyeing their advanced Shao Lin and weapons forms with excitement and anticipation. But eager as I was to receive those teachings, I soon came to believe the most precious gem in Sifu Kuo's treasure chest -- the practice that gave him such astonishing vigor, balance, and power at age 75 -- was his Taiji form. If life is a journey leading to a definite end, I thought, Taiji Chu'an shows us the way to make that journey with intention and grace. What I didn't realize at the time was how rare his particular Taiji was in the world, and how hard it would be for me to retain it beyond Portsmouth Square. This series of videos is a magnificent achievement. You have preserved Sifu Kuo's original form for posterity, passed on what you learned directly from him, and added a wealth of insights and guidance from your own years of dedicated practice and experience. As Sifu Kuo inspired me then, so does your vigor, balance, and power inspire me now. Xièxiè, Sifu Fung. Thank you for putting my feet back on the path I'd always hoped to follow.

Thank you so much for that kind comment! It is both my joy and honor to be able to share what Master Kuo Lien Ying has taught us over all those years. I am really so glad to help former students recapture their past! I know in my heart, that it would have made Sifu happy to see this happening. HAO! (Thumbs up with a gold tooth smile!)

And, a "grand terminus," indeed. Thank you for presenting all these, from my heart -- to preserve Sifu Kuo's legacy for others has been an act worthy of your manhood. Also noted: people become "Sifus" when other people wish to learn from them, and value what they teach. You have earned the title, and it's a good fit.

Thank you SO MUCH for all your support through my presentations. Your comments really have helped spur me on in my efforts. I am happy that you have found a new workout area that reminds you of Portsmouth Square. I plan on doing a future video on the "sanctity" of one's daily workout area.

First! Thanks for putting this series together. In addition to the inherent benefits of learning this version of the Yang form, there are benefits of comparing the form to the Yang Chen Fu style. The differences reveal insights in energy and applications. Also valuable in understanding the historical development of the forms we have today.

Thank you for your support through my efforts! At the time that we were studying with Master Kuo, we were aware of the uniqueness of the form, but now, it is really apparent that it is VERY unique in its interpretation.

Thanks Again for all your support. Truly without supporting comments, it really would be like "winking in the dark"!LOL

Thank you very much for your immense work in creating these martial arts teaching videos. I feel very lucky to have discovered your youtube channel. My plan now is to go through all the lessons again by Christmas, not only the Tai Chi form but also the Tan Tui forms. I believe that both complement each other well and I can confirm from my own experience that I am healthier, more energetic and happier since practicing these forms daily. I have a question about the last lesson. Did I understand correctly that Sifu Kuo Lien Ying expanded the form? Is it a different way of counting or has he introduced new postures?
@randallfung5457Ай бұрын
Thank you! I am happy to hear that you are also doing the tan tui. Yes, they are complimentary, the hard and the soft, the yin and the yang. As to you question, no, Sifu did not change the form, only the way that he numbered the moves. In the original book, he did not number the repeat moves, only the new ones, hence the difference. The original booklet was I believe designed to go along with the physical teaching, not as a stand alone instruction manual.

Namaste, Master Fung. Words don't teach, yet I listened and read anyway ;) Seems experience is everything ... and picture/videos :)
