I have been a practitioner of Shorinji Kempo for over fifty years and it is still wonderful to see how instructors can have fun when teaching and learning.

Naka sensei is amazing, what a true martial artist, he can absorb very quickly techniques from shorinji kempo which is actually not an easy martial art to learn.

Well.. He is a 6th dan, Shihan after all.... That sort of experience makes martial things seem simpler in his eyes compared to the average joe.

I agree, the thing I found is the similarities actually make it too easy to slip into my favoured style. Shotokan and Ju Jitsu blend well and are transferrable. Shorinji looks like that blend but really isn't, their 'way' is different. I've only just started learning shorinji, I'm sure it'll click and I'll get it or maybe it won't suit my body.

If he intended, the knee junction of opponent could be broken. The opponent should practice how to not break own junction.

@@mortgagefinancing5558 what do you mean?
@mortgagefinancing55586 жыл бұрын
originally back in the day Japan had a white belt then black. You wore the black until it was faded to white..it was symbolic to show that you are a white belts all over again. Learn and then learn from the start again so to speak.Then they changed like the western world and started using colored belts through the ranks..now they are too much like the west making up different colored black belts with red Kanji and all sorts of strange things times change.
