Yeah of course. That's why you follow the government blindly coz they are providing you with everything. I know it to be a well known fact. It is also a common knowledge that once it is taken away, a military man can't adjust to civilian life( paying bills, finding a job, you know those normal things) Anyway, why would anybody fight for government that hates you anyway??

The West should be embarrassed with their policy of appeasement since the war started. If they had helped Ukraine properly from the start, they'd be in a better position. This drip-drip help has hindered the brave Ukranian forces. Gonna do something properly or don't do it at all.

Richard Kemp says that the outsourced recruitment process saved money but did not get the recruits: in other words, its failure meant no money was actually "saved". Rather than subcontract to Capita (yes, them again), it would have been far better to have spent the money and actually got some recruits. Politicians should stop pretending that outsourcing works and admit it more often results in poor outcomes. Indeed, some organisations have been reported in Private Eye as cancelling contracts and bringing the services back in-house due to non-delivery of service.

What is the drivel the presenter is spouting off about the Afghanistan soldiers. Ask British soldiers what it is like to serve with Afghan soldiers. Sure there will be some good ones but they were often lazy, badly organised - look how fast their country fell. On top of that, there are massive cultural differences, some which would not be savoury to the western world.

Todays society is different to say 30 years ago. Nowadays the younger generation are work shy, and need to protect their mental health in their safe spaces while waving the rainbow flag. They get more money on civvy street claiming benefits.

My elder son spent 6 years in TA/7th Scots and six years in the Royal Navy (mine sweepers operating out of Faslane). He was able to save more money while in the forces, than he might have done in civvy street. Since leaving he's been able to transfer the small-unit disciplines and man-management skills to work outside the forces. Dealing with higher ranks within the forces, is also helpful when dealing with civvy managers. There's a lot the forces can sell themselves on. The all-found aspect of the forces suits some. The more the forces can give its recruits transferable skills and knowledge, the better. As a matter of personal opinion, I'm in favour of giving Ukraine all the military and civilian support needed to 'defeat' Putin's Russia on the battle field. Always remembering that the important matter is the day after the war ends, when we begin the work of engaging those who the day before were enemies.
