Shawn gladly would've agreed too.He also has a massive ego but his ego was never about the belt it was about stealing the spotlight and the show with the best matches. I can bet Vince offered him at least 5 reigns when he returned in 2002 and he refused all of them. But see HHH was obsessed with the world heavyweight championship in the reign of terror,there are even rumors that obsession was for real back then.He wanted the belt to be either on his chest or on one of the evolution members.

@@nevelinmitev9391 I only disagree bout Randy and Sheamus, he didn't bury em cuz here's why, Randy wasn't ready to be the top dog yet, he was too young and he still needed more experience and he also wasn't that great backstage and was cocky af to most of his coworkers, Triple H had to be a dad and humble him, then next thing you know by 2007-2009 they kept going at it cuz he was ready and Trips was cool with putting him over many times And as for Sheamus he only beat him at WrestleMania then next thing you know he fucked up Triple H the next month "injuring him" and ever since then Triple H jumped into the part time schedule, how was Sheamus buried when he made Triple H his bitch afterwards?

Maybe not *all* the help, but I agree that having that accolade helped Jericho more than it would Kurt. Kurt's got real life gold that he can show off, belt or no belt. Jericho is a great character, great worker, very entertaining, but winning that Undisputed Championship was what confirmed he wouldn't be just great, but legendary.

I’m more of an Angle fan than Jericho, but I gotta give them props for this. As much as I would’ve loved to see Kurt have both belts, I think it was the right decision to have Jericho be the undisputed champion. Kurt didn’t really lose any star power during this time, and I think from a company‘s perspective this really helped solidify Jericho as a big time star. Having extra star like Jericho on their roster, I think helped them out in the long run and helped build another star in their already stacked roster at the time.

This is why I respect Kurt the guy wanted to help put over new stars (had to do quick post didn't finish) even when sacrificing the chance at being the first ever undisputed champion, to be honest without this guy making these sacrifices John Cena and Chris Jericho wouldn't of been the stars they are today.
