1 year later and another video. I loved the show Banshee and especially the character of Kurt Bunker, so I thought I'd make a little tribute towards the character.

At 74 years young...I've seen a bit of life. I knew men like Kurt Bunker. Trying to find and fight their way back to some kind of "normal". Whatever the hell that might be. Fantastic portrayal of a never ending struggle for many.

@@words007 mindset. Some people have seen things in such a way, and seen/experienced/Endured enough, that the all encompassing philosophy they have settled on, concerning how they decide to live their lives, IN GENERAL.... involves the realization, that YES while life is experienced IN the physical plane/realm we exist on, it IS LIVED INSIDE our heads. We feel pain, fear, anger, boredom, gratitude, relief, fondness.... love.... but it all comes back to PERCEPTIONS. Some people will never view things in that way. And, that's totally fine. Because one persons' blueprint/code/guidelines won't necessarily work for another. But, for instance, while I'm not religious, I am GLAD for those who are, because they found a creed they can live by, that helps them live happy, productive, fulfilling lives. Of course, my view is, no matter what the creed, philosophies, culture, location, physical state, etc.... us being sentient/self aware.... ALL comes back, to PERCEPTIONS. Therefore, you don't HAVE to understand why someone may call themselves 74 years young. Process the words (wiggly air/soundwaves), notice the comedy, chuckle, and move on. And keep seeking out how to be more excellent to people. But, it's not just self help preaching. Those who chalk it up to that, are probably the people who need it most. What's wrong with living life in the way of, being open and intending to be able to improve at ANY time, any where, any way, from any thing, any one.... I've balanced my realism (pessimism) and idealism (optimism).... and I'm nothing special. But the secret of life, I think, so far.... at 33 years old.... a large part of it, is found by LIVING FOR OTHERS. The river doesn't drink its water. Plants that grow fruit don't eat that fruit. Trees that create oxygen don't use that oxygen. Memories with people, is what we got. And it's an intangible. Which, is rather priceless. Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow ain't here.... today is NOW.... and we don't have long. Be well.
@blandcranston5439

Just.... realize how you view things is a choice. I used to chalk THAT up, to *mind tricks you play on yourself* as it didn't change anything for the better, in the greater physical world. And, then the next immediate and logical realization, is that you aren't Superman.... or a deity, and such things in this world, cannot be changed by ONE individual. Maybe a day will come when enough people rally and CAN change things that need changing, BUT I DON'T see ANY sign of such a social anomaly even ON THE HORIZON. So, what's the obvious choice? Well, to those who care.... and genuinely love.... it's NOT OBVIOUS. It wasn't to me for a long time. Then, i realized.... those *mind tricks you play on yourself* was it. And considering them to be just tricks, was far too narrow a scope to attribute to it. Trying to carve out a little postage stamp of happiness and security in this world, is frustrating. So many things prevent it. But, the point of ALL THIS TEXT.... comes to here. With jow many potential hindrances that exist on the path of life, that YOU WILL NOT be able to avoid.... THE LAST AND ABSOLUTELY WORST ONE that an individual can be plagued by.... Is themselves. Their own mind. Their own second guessing. Their own lack of confidence, and faith in themselves. For those with chemical imbalances.... they're nearly condemned. And, that's not right. Those who endure vicious traumas.... and get PTSD.... that's not right. But.... can you save everyone? Sadly, no. You can do what you can do. BUT, IF YOU CAN'T HELP YOURSELF.... you can't help anyone else either. Choice. 100+% pain.... or 70% pain.... It's why I begrudgingly vote who I vote for. UAAAGGGHHH. We need an amendment that amounts to *buyers remorse* like a *governmental mulligan* !!!! Yep.

Kid who runs away from home to avoid his violent father, gets brainwashed by a group of adults into becoming one of them...can totally understand a story like that...if you enter that world willingly as an adult, it's mostly because you truly feel like you want to live by those ideals...if you are a kid, others make that choice for you..you could see shame and guilt in his eyes, for finally realizing what he had become, and believe in his efforts in trying to change.

I've served in the military for more than 8 years. I've seen some white dudes just like this, with the same story, the same past. I can say that even as a black man I felt sorry for them. Think about it, the stress of growing up, learning all you can from the MEN around you that you respect, wanting to emulate them but eventually having to stand and face your actions/ideology as it crumbles in the face of reality... I felt sad for them because in some cases you could see their struggle to leave the hate behind and how easy it was to slip back into it... insidious and welcoming at the same time.

Tom Pelphrey is a really good actor. He was fantastic as Kurt Bunker and he did a great job with Kurt’s redemption story. Banshee is one of my favourite TV shows with an outstanding cast. I put it right up there with Breaking Bad.

Pain changes a person. Sometimes to the better, but more often to the worst. I went for the later and realized too late that this was not the path I wanted to go down to.

Tom Pelphrey is a totally underrated actor. He was also excellent in Ozark and Outer Range. He seems to do well playing troubled souls, though I think his range is good enough to allow him to be a leading man in larger budget mainstream films.

Kurt is a big example if there being no such thing as too far gone. All it takes is a choice. Even it is the first, last, and only choice you make.

I fell in love with the uniforms, weapons, imagery, and pageantry when I was very young. I wished for that kind of efficiency and nationalism for myself... I didn't really listen to what they had done at first. I didn't learn about the Holocaust right away. I had idolized them for about 4 years before I finally saw 'Schindler's List'. That devastated me. The gorgeous style, symbolism, seeming clarity of purpose... all to destroy the best and brightest among them. Then I met a Jew. He was just like me. I couldn't hate him! He's just as broken and wounded as me! I hate racism and bigotry whenever I see it, that's not me. I love all humans. And then I watched Star Wars, and saw Vader with his Stormtroopers. They clicked for me, as a sort of replacement. I care for my fellow man, but Xeno beware. I don't believe in Final Solutions, but cloning makes blank slates. I can just reset a species to zero. Start over. Learn friendship and brotherhood, and join us among the stars... Or keep learning the lesson until you do.

He should have been in the show longer if it wasn't canceled, they should have explored his character's back history more. Good actor, too bad he was overlooked at the Emmys for his character in Ozarks this year.

Change is possible, but investing in this idea (if you are not the person) is delusional. Be a good influence to them, but take distance whenever a bad behavior affects you. Do tell these people they are wrong to be there and do these things. Every bit helps. Stop ignorance... it allows good people to join bad people under a veil. Good video.
