He sounds like butter even when he speaks. I was blessed to work with Mr. Elling when he was a guest singer with the big band I engineer for. There are few I would consider a virtuoso, but he is on that list. Another singer that is very intriguing is 27 year old Brazilian Gabriel Henrique. He is doing Mariah and Whitney covers in their native keys and just killing it. I have never heard anyone take a cover of either of these artists and absolutely work it over like a day old bucket of greasy chicken the way Gabriel does. For one, I have never heard anyone sing in whistle notes like that before, and the control, range, and dynamics are amazing.

Kurt gave a speech at Berlin`s pop music college in Germany- he said, that a singer should be like a tourguide- a medium in between text - and music message and audience....and you should find 2 other similar songs to the one, you study. to get a wider interretation picture.

Also I have been on this planet a long time . And listened too some of the most famous beautiful voices of all time .and most of them could not read music had no idea about chest head etc voice etc etc and probably ended up having a vocal coach. But. In my opinion . Keep it simple stupid.. The main reason my voice and range has improved dramatically is watching. Justin. Keep it simple stupid. He is that good. Even I... could follow it and improve My Previouse, so called singing teachers.Was that bad I nearly gave up singing. I really taught myself. NEW YORK Singing coach "Justin" taught me more in weeks. Than I had been looking at for years . He is absolutely brilliant.the way he tells you and then demonstrates how to practice.. I'm in australia and too old now But I would have loved to have sat down with that man..to listen to what he said about my voice and what I would need to do. To improve my voice. He is brilliant. Thanks

I've never heard of him maybe because I didn't listen to jazz or live in poland. It would be nice if you said about his current register scale. 10:25 I agree Yes I noticed that he was smiling almost all the time while singing but have you not told us Justin that spreading is Bad??
@NewYorkVocalCoaching3 жыл бұрын
Hi Patryk! "Spreading" can be negative if you need to do it in order to hit certain notes. :) But adding it as a stylistic effect or for emotional/performance aspects is different! -NYVC
@Rosannasfriend3 жыл бұрын
Having a smile in terms of showing your upper teeth is not a bad thing, but when you smile with your whole mouth and kind of force those sides apart, that’s not a good thing. You don’t necessarily want to spread the whole embouchure. Though , spreading is okay depending on who you ask. There are healthy ways to get away with it that I don’t have time to go into here, LOL.
