Kurt Hummel [Glee] - Iridescent [6x07]

After 6 seasons I've made 1 Glee video and a million collab parts, yay:D I was listening to this song the other day and something about shows ending just inspires me so here we are. I wanted to show how Kurt changed after his struggles in S2 when he didn't have to fight so hard anymore. I think he never got to grow in the way the others did because he was so focused on just getting through the day, which in the end created the problems with Blaine. And he's kinda realizing that now.

I might have given up on this show way back because I grew to dislike it sadly ... but some of my most fondest memories were being on the set of this show. That cast and crew were amazingly tight ... like a family. I haven't thought much about that until watching this video... lol (interesting how things can bring up other memories) ... but it's true. I remember this one episode where I was in the hallway and I got SHOVED against a locker by a camera very hard, I remember Heather Morris and Naya Rivera coming up to me in passing and go "wow are you okay? I'll tell them to be more careful" basically. Since then I completely respected the atmosphere of what it was like to be on a set. At the end of the day it's about how you treat people and they treated people well. I always liked Kurt. It was interesting to see where he came since I stopped watching it. Great video. Sorry for the endlessness of this paragraph. haha. xoxo

Wow this is so unique and brilliant and mesmerizing. It's always such a treat to see you vid Glee - your way of vidding it always blows me away, even if usually it's just in collab parts, and this is certainly not an exception to that but rather the epitome of it! I don't actually know if I like the very first scene choice/voiceover choice which seemed a little too humorous for the tone of the rest of the video, and I'm not sure about that inclusion of the final Blaine voiceover either... but everything in between was sheer and utter perfection, in my opinion. Every single voiceover choice and all of the specific clips you chose to match those voiceovers... all of the lyric matches... including sometimes voiceovers that match specific lyrics!! The moments of parallels... the way you did 2:27 with those overlayed clips... everything about this was perfection. Even the coloring. ;) I really felt so many emotions watching this, and I am in awe of your skills. I also really love how unique your interpretation on Klaine is. And how much *undervidded* stuff you manage to get in here, especially voiceover wise but also clip-wise. This was just EPIC and I hope you know that.

Also, I adore Kurt, he's always been one of my favorite characters on the show and within the past few years (without Quinn around in the later seasons, and because I've read a lot more Glee fanfiction, most of which featured Kurt) he became my favorite. I love him so much, which adds to how much I love this vid, because character study vids about him are so freaking rare. ;) I also love this song so much, I kind of vidded it once but always wished I could vid more than 30 seconds of it sometime because the entire song is amazing, so it's so wonderful that you vidded the entire thing.

One of my favorite parts of this video is near the very beginning with the first lyric ("You were standing in the wake of devastation") and the "I'm just not that confident, I guess" voiceover, about why he wasn't coming out as gay in the beginning of the show, be paralleled with the gay bashing stuff and Kurt's face as he considers the idea that someone would be so attacked for simply being gay, and how poignant it is that it's so much more complicated than him "just not being confident", of just how big of a deal being gay and coming out as gay really is... it was just so intense to watch that, and that was before the vid even really started... lol. You did so much at once there, and you kept doing that throughout the vid.

My original plan was so include more humor in this cos he has such a funny side but in 5 minutes...that moment never came after that first scene lmao. So I just did what the song told me to. I must have spent 12 hours on this on Sunday and I was driving myself mad thinking of all the things I wasn't 100% happy with so I'm really glad you enjoyed it:D I got to that point where I just wasn't gonna sleep until I was finished. Well you know how that is xD I tend to cut songs a lot these days but I never even considered cutting this. It's just so good and yeah, you should vid it:DI love him so much too and he's not really the type of character I usually go for, but I relate to him in many ways if we take out all the theatrical stuff cos I've just never been a performer in any way.
