Its been a bit late but if you guys would use your brains a bit more then you would know he is richer then most of them by now. This information is all lookable at the internet. But yeah judges in shows like idol are just random people who mostly don't even know shit themselfs.

i know kurt nilsen. my dads wrote his first album.and i can tell you that he is richer than all of the judges put together

The comments from judges show you everything you need to know about modern music. If you're not 'pop' star worthy then you won't make it in the popular music jungle. This guy has one of the greatest voices of all time and you hear them talk about pop that, pop this. Can't they just accept that there are other genres of music outside of pop? People listen to rock music too and Kurt has one of the greatest country rock voices of all time. If he went to America's Got Talent and sung a country tune he would get the golden buzzer in a heartbeat. I know he is old and has accomplished everything but it saddens me that when Kurt started they expected of him to be a generic pop star with such an amazing voice.
@gharlston1116 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for the subtitles. It just goes to show you that people all around the world can't hear greatness when it is right before them. One of the judges had the audacity to say that he should stick to playing in a band. Thank God the others had good sense to send him on to Oslo. The rest, as they say, is history.
@tomeklawreszuk2 жыл бұрын
Love this man! Deserves a mad respect!!! Unbeliable voice, ear, talent yet so down to earth & absolutely no ego. He could teach today's "rockstars" some humbleness✌️👌👏🙏
@Arken19925 жыл бұрын
I remember seeing this audition on live television. My first thought was that this guy is going to win everything. He was 1000 times better than all of the others and to this day noone has bettered him. It would have been an absolute disgrace if they didnt send him through to the next round
@hargitsingh4971 Жыл бұрын
I think the judges were more worried about "marketing him" rather than his voice - and that is what is wrong with the whole music industry. Kurt has an amazing voice and THAT should be the selling point.
@monmothma3358 Жыл бұрын
@@hargitsingh4971 Plus people often like unique individuals who seem real. Yeah, of course you also have the good looking idol who's meant to make people dream. Give them an illusion. But stardom is often just as much about uniqueness.

The judging panel sucks completely. "We wont send you through next round BECAUSE you don't have the look material..." What kind of bullshit is that? I thought this competition was all about their voices.. He certainly has one of the very few best voices out there, in my opinion.
@bradj20009 жыл бұрын
Dominic Toretto great voice and he has been successful in his career since this show....however 'pop' stars need to have a wee bit of talent in singing and dancing.....and look good. i.e. brittany spears back in the day.....the record companies want to make a quick fortune.....someone who is hot and can sing a bit = $$$$
@SoopaTroopa8 жыл бұрын
+Dominic Toretto A pretty face sells better than a pretty voice. Ever wondered why pretty much all pop stars look so good? Most people with heavenly voices look like shit, just go to a good music school and you'll see that most of them sing better than 99% of pop stars but none of them will make it because they aren't attractive.
@purpledawn27275 жыл бұрын
They didn't say anything about his looks though. They said that he had a great voice but that it seemed more suitable in a band which I totally agree on. Did you not watch this video?
@larrychatfield5 жыл бұрын
@@purpledawn2727 that was just their dog-whistle for saying he doesn't have the "right look" or you should be in a band but he is not attractive. Simon Cowell even lambasted him publicly on World Idol saying he has a face for radio but not touring

@Mrmoe1989 жыл бұрын
I loved how she corrected his English. Funny thing is, we do tend to have soft Ts. We pronounce them more like Ds mostly. So although she was grammatically correct, he is dialectically correct. Edit: This is what makes Europeans stand out when practicing their american accents, they put those clipped Ts in words and it sounds weird to a native speaker’s ear because we don’t do that.

@AdrianDX5 жыл бұрын
Indeed. I think that it's stuff like at 1:23 "Never forget" where she has her judgement from, but that still just an artistic way of pronouncing it for the sake of music. I mean holy hell most people on the top billboard these days don't even come close to accurate pronunciation xD

The judge (chief), Jan Fredrik Karlsen, is his manager and good friend now! The woman judge is head of Sony/BMG (his record company) in Norway. The guy who said about him not selling any albums, produced his 1st solo album!!! Kurt has said in interviews, that he went to the audition as a "bit of a laugh" as one of his band mates had filled in the application form for him. He didn't really know what it was about and also was slightly tired and hungover from a gig the previous evening!!!!
