Kurt, I was the one (or one of many) to request this. I got caught while on no-gi competition in Grapplers Quest. Twice. Beginner, of course. I immensely appreciate you taking the time to explain and upload this. Will try not to fuck up on this one!

Hey Sage if you're reading this, now you know buddy

+Hugo Stiglitz sage couldn't escape because bryan didn't leave room for him to move his elbow like that even from half guard
@MrJoshsupra8 жыл бұрын
+Mister Proper Yeah I saw the "gracie Breakdown" Video. Apparently Barberena was doing a modified von flue choke, putting pressure on his neck. Couple that with the fact that the quick camera angle changes made it look like sage tapped early.
@DayTreaper8 жыл бұрын
+Hugo Stiglitz there is gracie breakedown video? i must see that
@MrJoshsupra8 жыл бұрын
+Mister Proper Yeah brotha, it's pretty good. Shows that it wasn't an early tap.

Been doing BJJ for 3 months and the arm triangle will be the first sub i pull off (thats the plan anyway). After i pull it off isee the scenario where i am in an arm triangle the very next roll. Now i know how to get out!!! Thanks Kurt. BTW i watched jiujitsu vs the world a few days ago and recognized you from that. Hope you are well and Subscribed!

How'd that work out for you?
@errcoche10 жыл бұрын
To the guy that claims that this requires strength and is an affront to the principles of jiu-jitsu : when you come up with a technique from that position that doesn't need some effort, be sure and post back. As far as I can tell, Kurt is slipping out of the hold, going up and around it rather than forcing his way out. I doubt there is a more elegant option. In any event, Kurt is a "whatever f@#*ing works" kind of a guy.

Hey fellow Jiu Jitsu practitioners! Can anybody tell me good ways to prevent the guy from even getting his arm under mine to start setting up an arm triangle? I like this escape but it seems pretty risky and more of a last resort.

No leverage? Except applying the left hand at the end of the wrist for maximum leverage for removing the arm instead of trying to muscle out.

There is no levarege on that escape, you need to use a lot of power in or to suceede which is againts the Jiu-Jitsu prinincipals.
