Kurt Warner is impressed with Caleb Williams' improved accuracy | Spiegel & Holmes

On the Spiegel & Holmes Show, Westwood One and NFL Network analyst Kurt Warner shared what jumped out to him when calling and reviewing Bears quarterback Caleb Williams' performance against the Jaguars. Warner also weighed in on Bears players conversing with coaches about using scripted plays to open games.

Warner is critical, but clearly knows what he is talking about. He doesn’t sugar coat his words. Aikman will give you a general thought and nothing you have not heard.

I watched this game and i literally seen Kurt ride Trevor cucumber the whole first 5 drives. Never said anything positive about out Caleb. Then he switched it up when he seen us spanking ssa! I don’t like him at all!

There was nothing positive to say the first few drives. I watched the game too. It was pretty clear it was an experienced NFL QB reasonably critiquing a rookie QB. Folks have to stop taking it personally when somebody points out a flaw in Caleb's play, I'm willing to bet Caleb would agree with pretty much 100% of what Kurt has to say. Is Caleb perfect now ? No. Is he getting better every week ? Absolutely. Does he have the potential to be an elite QB ? Absolutely. Is that more or less what Kurt said ? Yep.

@@james_robnett I understand what you are saying! However his criticism of Caleb clearly showed that he has not watched any games. Highlights probably. As a Chicago native and resident and die hard Bears fan, we are tired of the mainstream media criticizing what they truly haven’t seen. But at the end of the day I do understand what you saying. I accept criticism from those who actually watch us play. That’s fair game!

@@TheWizeGod74 I've been a Bears fan since McMahon was still in High School. I've been waiting nearly 50 years for us to finally have a QB and I strongly believe Caleb is it. But I've also seen all of Kurt's critique of Caleb and most of it seemed fair. I personally placed more blame on the O-Line and Waldron but I also understood Kurt's point. He also always couched it in terms of Caleb not playing the way Kurt felt he was capable. Anyway, I think almost all of us are rightfully stoked about where Caleb is heading.

This dude is hating on Caleb, he wish he had the talent of this young man when he was playing. Caleb is just a rookie period. The fact he is highly tauted is not on Caleb. Like the progress Caleb is making. It is however against 2 defenses in the bottom 5 in the NFL just like we started out playing quality defenses. Caleb just needs to make sure to take the confidence he is making now and move it forward.

I am throwing out those first two games due to first home game and first road game and on Sunday night football. Tough spot to start. If we played those teams right now I am sure result would be different from the quarterback.

I'm from Iowa and I was always rooting for Kurt Warner but the longer I got to know him I think he's a fake and I'm shocked that he got into the Hall of Fame I don't really believe he was deserving especially when you got guys like mongo that wasn't in yet

I agree in that’ll be the big test to see how far we come, and how much further we need to go. However, there’s no need to try and tell others how to be a fan. People are excited, and rightfully so. Cautious optimism is balance and that’s ok.
