The fact is porn has warped people's perception on reality and made men think they are always in control and women are objects to use. My wife tells me all the time the disgusting things men open with.
@nomoretwitterhandles Жыл бұрын
That's part of the problem, but the bigger issue is power-play. Since the patriarchy is still largely affecting men and women, it leads men into thinking they're the superior ones, and if they don't get sex on demand, then they're less powerful. So naturally, the only conclusion they can come up with is "I'm not powerless, women are just bitches!", and then they go on about their lives. It's sad.

Oof, yeah, reminds me of every old 80's movie where a woman was in the shower. They would make her move and sound like she was m****rbating when she was just rubbing a loofa on her neck. They would also have her rub along and rinsing off a 'pretty' part of her body for way too long instead of actually doing things we do in the shower, like sudsing up, or washing the pits or feet. One of the worst examples is in See No Evil, Hear No Evil. A woman's moment of privacy being s**ualised and treated like something extremely attractive being witheld from men is a deeply disturbing thing.

Omg finally a good place for this story. So when I was 16, I worked at McDonald's. I was taking some guy's order (maybe mid-late 20's?) and he goes "I like your hair--is it a haircut?" I had one side shaved at the time, so I'm just sitting there thinking 'As opposed to what??? It just grows like this??' But anyways I'm working and I have to be polite so I"m like "yeah haha", and he follows up with "Does your boyfriend like it?" ALARMS BLARING. Super weird and creepy thing to say. I didn't know what else to say besides the truth, which I hoped would shield me from this creepiness, so I was like "My girlfriend likes it!" And he was like "Ah" and then he finished ordering and went to sit down. So I'm like.... Just... Wow, I hated that interaction, that was fucking awful. But I just go back to doing my job. And In a little bit, I go out to the lobby to sweep the floors. While I'm sweeping the floors, this guy gets up to throw away his trash, and as he's standing there kinda near me, he says: "So, not letting any guys down there, huh?" WHAT THE FUCK WHY Even if I wasn't a minor, fucking so awful and unacceptable. And while I was watching this video I just kept thinking it sounds so much like one of these weird incel role-play scenarios except in their version I'd be into it. Just.................. n o. Anyways I spent the rest of my shift feeling like I wanted to take 100 showers.

So this year my roommate had a guy tell her that he'd yanked it to completely normal pictures that she had on her dating profile. After much discussion and roasting tf out of this dude (who was also possessive right off the bat and openly racist, they never met up and she ghosted him when all this arose) we concluded that having a guy doing that to normal photos is SIGNIFICANTLY creepier than to nudes
@madmyth39852 жыл бұрын
Nudes are meant to illicit a certain reaction if you catch my drift. Normal photos aren’t really meant for that. It’s so much creepier for someone to get off on normal photos.
@madeleine615092 жыл бұрын
I think the reason it is so creepy is the thought that most people uploaded normal pictures onto the internet (Facebook, Insta, etc.) without even thinking twice, for the specific reason of "Who the hell would ever do anything weird with this??? It's just a normal picture". To find out that guys do get weird with completely normal pictures means you have no clue which of your pictures have been zerged off to. Did the picture of you at your father's funeral get zerged off to? Or maybe the pictures from when you were still a young teen? You holding your baby/your baby sibling? Who knows because suddenly ANY picture with a woman in it is suddenly fair game, regardless of if the picture is sexual or not. Let me also just say that there are LOTS of guys who do it. Back when I was a kid- as in roughly 12-15- I used to use my face as a picture publicly when chatting online. I had a normal expression, I was wearing extremely non-sexual clothing, etc. and yet guys would send me unsolicited "tribute photos" (feel free to search on Urban Dict. if you don't know what that is) with my underage face underneath the white fluid. This isn't some "one or two freaks" thing, it's surprisingly common... Nowadays when I say no to sending any pictures, guys try to argue by saying "it's not like I'm asking for a pic of your tits. Just a normal picture". I don't care how paranoid it makes me seem, I'm never sending a pic of myself to a stranger online again, regardless of how "normal" it is.

A few days ago, I was out shopping at the mall with my brother and his foster mom (it’s complicated). Anyways, while they were paying I was just looking around as I had already payed for my stuff. This gave off the impression I was alone. I was just looking at these figurines, and then I saw this dude in my vision saying something, so obviously I turned. I had my noise-cancelling headphones on so I was a bit confused on whether he was actually talking to me. It turns out he was, and he said “I like your headphones”. It wasn’t that weird- so I just said “Thanks” and figured that’s all he wanted. However he didn’t leave, and he instead just awkwardly looked at me (never making eye contact) for an uncomfortable period of time before apologizing (in that nice guy way) “im so sorry for bothering you. Go back to doing whatever, this was dumb” I assure him it was fine, and then he suddenly does a 180 and asks “are you graduating??” And immediate RED FLAGS 🚩 I’m 15, and very obviously a minor. I’m not even tall (5,2) and def don’t look like I’m over 18. This makes me slightly panicked so I stay quiet before going “oh no- definitely not. Just halfway through highschool” EXCEPT THAT doesn’t seem to be A PROBLEM TO HIM, but I notice my brother also looking around (at some point they passed me) so I go to follow them. We look around for a bit, and the dude leaves me alone. After we exit the store, the brother and his foster mom walked a bit slower, so when I turn around to talk to them in the distance I see the same man running in my direction with his phone in hand (obv wanting my contact info) but he suddenly turns around when he sees I’m not alone. It was super uncomfortable and honestly made me feel scared. Especially because the Canada (where I was) has the most Missing and Murdered Indigenous women. So being a native teen approached by a 19+ man asking if I was graduating, and seemingly thinking I was alone was worrying. Especially when he ran in my direction afterwards, if he hadn’t seen I was with an adult, I worry over what could’ve happened.

By far the strangest thing a guy has ever said to me was from a friend of a friend online who was like 6-7 years older than me and I had just turned 18, so already off to a bad start. But he sent me this long message about how apparently he was in love with me because he had an erotic dream about me where I turned into a my little pony of all things, and that meant we were destined to be together. Long story short it took like two years and multiple friends helping me to finally be able to cut contact with him completely since he found out where I lived and kept telling me he was gonna come meet me, and he even got his mom to call me and tell me I had sent him into a deep depression every time I attempted to block him. Thank god I was lucky enough to get away without him ever showing up at my house, and now 6 years later I have the confidence to shut down anyone who starts giving off creep or incel vibes. But sadly this kinda thing happens way too often to woman in the gaming community, and more often than not it’s easier to not use voice chat cause as soon as a lot of these people hear a girls voice, you get a lot of strange and inappropriate messages.

1) I had an OKCupid account which stated that I’m non-binary in my profile. My very first message was exactly the following: do u have a penis or a vagina? I responded that it really isn’t appropriate to suddenly ask someone about their genitals, especially without even saying hello first. They never responded. 2) While sitting at the smoking spot at my community college, a guy tapped me on my shoulder. When I turned around, he said, “I will seduce you.” I burst out laughing, turned back around and asked the other folks at my table if they heard that. Pro tip: the implication that my agency and desires don’t matter to you is not a good “open.”

I still remember an interaction I had in my freshman year. A group of guys told me that one of them had a crush on me because I was like an “anime girl” using chopsticks and eating a bento during lunch… And apparently that’s what they all called me. “The anime girl”. To be fair I did move from Japan, but I find it weird that their reason for starting to crush on me was because I was using utensils that I’m used to eating with.
@demo28232 жыл бұрын

The same thing happened with my friend except it wasn’t bc of utensils but bc of the way she dressed, bc she watched anime, and her general personality. This dude followed her around and said she was so “kawaii” and “innocent” it reminded him of an anime girl, and to make things worse she ended up dating him. I’m not sure of the current status of their relationship bc I don’t have much contact with her anymore, but from the last I saw he was possessive of her to an unhealthy degree (getting pissed if a male friend sat near her, saying “she’s mine so back off” even when no one was doing anything weird to her, etc), and once she added me to a gc with him so I could meet him and that rubbed me the wrong way so badly. We were having a playful argument, and he thought it was serious, and got so excited???? It was so weird. Sorry for the long ramble-ish comment, I just still really worry for her sometimes

oh god, nature abhors no other like the "cultural appreciator" who seems to have forgotten how to be an earthling along the way. im a trans guy who cracked in college and presented as female all thru high school. the amount of dudes/incels/LOSERS who would pretend to be my friend just to admit they wanted to get with me and present me with those kinds of hateful messages when i turned down them asking me out was absurd. i still have trouble trusting that my guy friends actually want to hang with me because im me and not just because they want to get in my pants (haven't started T yet). when talking to other dudes (im not out to a lot of people atm) i am always on guard making sure whatever i say doesn't come across as flirting and shutting down any even remotely flirty things as soon as they're brought up (like when they stretch their arms out and go "WhErE's My HuG?" and you KNOW they never do that with their best guy friends). it is SO dehumanizing to know they only viewed you as a potential date/thing to 'conquer' and not as an actual friend or even a human being. they just view all women as a means to an end in the social sense- getting laid- and they don't really care about them as people at all. that's why they do this roleplay shit online and why every single one of those responses is treating the woman like an object that only exists for their consumption. they genuinely don't view women as human beings, and their individual personalities are just a challenge in the way of the incel getting laid by the body the actual person inhibits. that's why these 'post your opening line' tweets even exist in the first place. the women in those photos are not people to them, so it's fine to just post actual fucking photos of them for a game like this, and this is just for them to try and figure out the 'optimal' strategy to get laid, like a fucking workshop, ignoring the fact that every person is different and not all people react the exact same way. but they assume they will because women are like a totally other species to them and, like a bad fantasy writer, every one of a different species will *obviously* act the exact same (and when they don't, the incels get furious). and imagine how those women would feel finding those threads, a personal photo of you shared without your consent and a comments section full of what are essentially insults and people objectifying you and for what? having the gall to exist online while being fairly attractive?? it's disgusting how normalized this behavior is. kudos to you and others for calling it out.

Though I will say, I find it ironic that people are blaming men (there are definitely plenty to blame, not gonna deny that) when Marjorie Dannenfelser was one of the women (yes, women) responsible for overturning Roe vs. Wade. Here's an excerpt about her: "'Marjorie Jones Dannenfelser is the president of the Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, an American political organization that seeks to advance anti-abortion women in politics." She has been in this organization for over 20 years. There are lots of women who support her radical ideology. People only think it's cathartic to blame men because it's easy. We blame men because we don't want to hold our own sex responsible for being half of the problem. I mean, did you ever see how many women voted for Trump, knowing he was anti-abortion and a huge sexist? It's insane how much women in America hate women. Everyone is to blame for this shit.

This is very long but creepy. TW, there is stalking involved in this story. I used to work in a tuxedo store, so I was constantly having weird, and often frankly sexual, things asked of me. I had groomsmen ask me to measure their dicks. I was often asked by groomsmen to come join them after the wedding at their hotel and grooms propositioning before the wedding and after returning their tuxedo. That was a hard no. I had guys approach me at gas stations and ask if I was married way too often. But the creepiest: I measured a guy for his tuxedo like I did for everyone. He was trying to flirt but I was giving absolutely nothing back. He told me I was very fast at getting him measured (using a very disappointed tone) and I told him that I dressed men all day. He shoots his shot with: "Do you undress men all night?" "No, I dress and undress a toddler." Then he started following me around the store talking about his job and where he lives and trying to get information out of me. I tried to ignore him and answered only yes or no questions that weren't personal. He put so much chapstick on that it looked like gloss, which my workmates noticed. I wasn't attracted, but that's not why I was ignoring him. He set off my fight or flight the moment he started talking to me. I don't know why, but I trust my body when it does that. After a while he left and said he looked forward to seeing me again. I made a mental note to take that wedding weekend off. Fast forward and I'm in the bathroom when a workmate bangs on the door and tells me there's someone asking for me. I ask if it's a friend and they say no, I'm just being asked for by name. And then I realized, it was the weekend of the 6th. I had forgotten to take it off. I come out and he asks me to adjust his tuxedo (pants and vests are adjustable). I do and then walk over to help a groom. "I think my pants need adjusting again." He says this with a really smarmy tone. "The latches on the side can be used for that." The groom I'm helping laughs because he knows the guy is striking out hard. When he returns it (Sunday, so the place is packed), he refuses to have anyone but me check his tuxedo. I check that everything is there, hand him his receipt saying so, tell him to have a nice day, and walk away to help someone else. He calls out a thank you to me and tries to say something else, but I politely wave as a response and, after watching me for another 20 minutes, he finally leaves. I'd been getting followed home from work for weeks, starting pretty much from the first time he came in the store, but I would lose the guy through neighborhoods. He didn't need to know where I was picking up my child or where I lived. I can't prove it was him, and it ended a couple weeks after the last interaction, but it was stressful and frustrating. Thank you to poorly planned neighborhoods and people that didn't come out at night when I backed into their hard to see driveways, turned off my car, and ducked. I was teased by my coworkers, who labeled him the lip gloss guy, for weeks. I'd been living in terror, but I'm glad they could get a laugh because that job sucks your soul out at times. Humor is absolutely necessary.

that is so ungodly disturbing. I have no idea how I would react in a situation like that… I hope neither of us has to go through that (again, in your case…), but if I ever have to, i hope I handle it as well as you. ps. thanks for the TW. I still read it all, but these warnings can help me prepare myself mentally, so yeah, appreciated
@elleembee63352 жыл бұрын
@@thesleepydot thank you, that's really kind of you. I hope no one ever has to go through that. The interactions were just uncomfortable, and some of it was funny in retrospect, but the rest was a nightmare. I wish it on no one. I'm glad the TW helps! I know it wasn't graphic, but it was terrifying for me. Thankfully years of good therapy lets me think about this kind of thing without my fight or flight kicking in. I cannot recommend therapy enough to anyone who's been through this kind of thing.

For normal people, we call it a fantasy (and it stays in the fantasy relam). The incels seem to think these are normal behaviour and thought processes. As a female I can find what they are saying them funny, but also terrifying. They do not live in the real world, and don't appear to be capable of living there.

I worked at McDonald's as a minor for two years. One man (married with kids) got kicked out because he wouldn't stop staring at me, mostly my butt. Old men would constantly try to flirt with me and ask me to smile. i've been working at a local resteraunt since i was 16, im 18 now. i have weird and uncomfortable exchanges with creepy men pretty much daily. we had a general manager once (cishet guy, a really dumb one, we'll call him ron) who literally told me that my "list of creepy guys" was "too long". as well as straight up told me he thinks i judge men too harshly when i complain about all the creeps i encounter (when i confronted him and expressed i was actually upset, he backpeddaled and said he was just joking) one of our employees (also a cishet guy, a little younger than me, type of dude who says "females") would also always agree with ron and belittle my emotions. this made me feel so much less safe at work than i already did. dealing with predatory and even ped*philic (bc again, i got this job at 16) comments from customers and not even being able to complain about it for fear of being made fun of or belittled is so shitty. ron was weird in ways not even mentioned here, too. the sad part is, a lot of people liked him and miss him, so i'm somewhat alone in my disdain. we have a new gm now though and she's much better thankfully. im sorry for anyone else dealing with this kinda shit. it's gross and im honestly so tired. stay safe and remember your worth. don't be afraid to stand up for yourself, but be careful as well
