The fact that ol' Jimbo was willing to be that creepy *in front of a bunch of cameras* makes me think that there was definitely worse stuff going on at that restaurant, and you just know that every skeevy hooters manager watched that episode and went "oh cool, I can sexually degrade women and get nothing but a slap on the wrist from the CEO, so I'm just gonna keep being an absolute stinking greasetrap of a human being."
@raeroa79823 жыл бұрын
I knew a girl who worked there around 2008. They told her she 'had the privilege' to compete in a Hooters bikini contest BUT that she'd need to buy new bikinis, would not get paid unless she won AND would have to take off work. She politely declined and they did everything they could to hound her at work for tiny infractions and fired her a month later. She was a super sex positive person who even liked the outfits and they still managed to go to far with her. I hate Hooters so much.

an annoying thing that doesn’t get talked about enough: women are expected to appear “presentable” (aka done up) esp in jobs like this but their place of work never compensates them for things like getting their hair, nails, & hair removal done regularly which can be very expensive and time consuming. there’s also the cost of buying makeup and fake tanning. I know people are also going to say men are expected to look “presentable” but the standards and cost in terms of money and time are way different and it’s just never mentioned.… it’s messed up.

I’m a female and I’ve never even thought about this but holy shit you’re so right. I work in a clothing retail store as a manager. Our dress code is pretty lax (changed recently due to covid which meant our product went more “cozy casual”). Basically wear to sell while still looking presentable and not like you just got out of bed. Since it’s clothing, you’re mostly expected to wear current product or similar product (could be from a year or two ago). I’ve had to buy different shirts because my graphic tee isn’t sold by the company or it was a little too short when I’d lift my arms (to fold clothing, nothing weird). Meanwhile I’ve had male coworkers show up in sweatsuits and have never even been talked to about their outfit despite knowing the policies.

I am a Grammy Boomer, and a satisfied resident of Kurtistown. I never feel undervalued as a senior citizen in a town of bright young people. I will bake for all residents of Kurtistown, and fill each baked good with all the Grammy love I can conjure. I recommend the Kurtistown lifestyle to all of my friends.✌️ EDIT: I am just overwhelmed. Thank you all so much. I have been reading all of your comments, and I promise that you all have touched my heart. I have read comments that made me laugh, and I have read comments that made me cry, and I have read comments that broke my heart. I am sorry from the bottom of my heart that some of you have lost your own Grammys, whether due to passing away, or your grandparents have turned away from you because they refuse to accept you for who you are in your soul. I just want to give all of you a big old Grammy hug. 🤟 Now, as for baking, I think that chocolate chip cookies have been requested by the majority! So, I will make a big batch of those first. There are two types of people with regards to chocolate chip cookies. There are nutty people, and there are no-nut people. I will make both types, so as to accommodate everyone in town! As for pies, I can make any type of pie, and I make a kick-ass flaky pie crust, and a mean meringue! Thank you again for all the love that you have sent my way. I love you too!💝💖💐🤟 P.S. @@raveng8217 well for one thing, if we're assuming it was fake then it's possible that Jimbo wasn't even a real Hooters manager. @amandas26393 жыл бұрын
That shit is always SO infuriating to me. We literally have to beg men to treat us like humans by centering THEIR feelings and *still* making it about their relationship to a woman, *and* making that woman a kind of owned object. "Oh, but imagine if it was your wife or your daughter or sister" or whatever else. So? Why do we have to position ourselves that way? You don't hear men begging women to make the same connection in reverse whenever something bad is going on with another guy. It's not like, "Oh, but imagine if it was your son/husband/brother/whatever." Know why? Because we see people as people and don't have to imagine them as people only in the sense of "belonging" to us in a personal relationship. It's gross, and I side-eye every single guy who can't comprehend why he should care about X topic until someone makes that argument.

The issue with Hooters isn't the uniform itself.
