The Jujutsu Kaisen Shibuya Arc Databook is really impressive because it truly manages to teach us something about EVERY character we see in the arc, and many people are curious about Kusakabe after his funny moments during the Sukuna vs Jogo fight, so you’d probably wanna know that the reason Kusakabe eats so many lollipops is because he’s trying to quit smoking because he thinks it’d be stupid if smoking killed him and not a curse in his line of work. Ontop of that, we know that Kusakabe actually doesn’t have a cursed technique, but this doesn’t keep him from potentially being a teacher at Jujutsu Tech because you don’t really need one to teach at the school. Beyond this we learn that Kusakabe’s biggest source of stress is All Missions, meaning despite the fact that he’s actually pretty conservative and normally wouldn’t want to teach someone like Yuta, he saw becoming a Teacher for Jujutsu High a way better job because he could get paid to NOT put his life in Danger, so despite however he may have felt he happily became Yuta’s homeroom teacher when Gojo moved on to the new first years in Yuji’s group. The reason for that being that Shibuya happened before Todo and Mei Mei's recomendation would've made them a grade 1 after a few missions of tagging along with a grade 1 and then doing a grade 1 Mission alone. So yeah while Yuji is easily Grade 1 in strenght (Seen by how Mei Mei's mention of Kusakabe being a grade 1 was in Relation to Yuji being on the same level without CT), he does not have the title of Grade 1.
