"everything in this world runs on a loop, but the truth in the end may be small and simple" Well folks, I'm here to explain the meta significance behind this line, something that encompasses all the games in the Hoyoverse. Let us start at the beginning.....the very beginning, Mihoyo's (i make a distinction between Hoyoverse but that's just me) first game, flyme2themoon flyme2themoon, a game about a witch by the name of Kiana Kaslana heading to the moon to clear her name, for the uninitiated this may be insignificant but keep in mind the white haired girl going to the moon. Now onto Gun Girls Z, or Houkai Gauken 2 which ever you prefer, here we see Kiana Kaslana again, joined by a "friend" Raiden Mei, and actually a friend Bronya. Now this game shocked its players when Kiana went all golden-eyed god and killed everyone, but it turned out that it wasn't the first time humanity was wiped off the map. You see, there's this thing in GGZ called Era Zero, where a hyper advanced human civilization was wiped off the map, but not before setting up this reincarnation cycle thing powered by a god. When Kiana killed all of humanity, it was the second time such a thing happened. In the third reset, there's another character that ends up disrupting the cycle. Since the gbl version of GGZ has ended, I do lack a lot of information, but what I do know is that Kiana ended up going to the moon, this time she's not destroying humanity (yet, who knows), and it seems like the cycle is broken. But yet again, a white haired girl tied directly to the moon, but with ,well actually a lot of details, changes from the last time Ok now to Honkai impact 3, ok so now we this thing called the Previous Era which is basically Era Zero for HI3, where humanity was advanced but was wiped off the map, now we're on the 2nd try. Basically everything is the same as GGZ, except Otto managed to disrupt the GGZ cycle through a clever means that I won't spoil here. However, this time we know that humanity survives on the 2nd try since A Post Honkai Odyssey is a thing. Basically for this explanation what we need to know is that most of the no no bad stuff is sealed on the moon, implied to be from the sacrifice of someone close to Mei given how often she looks at the moon. Yeah its probably a Kiana. So once again, Kiana, the white haired girl, has some significant connection with the moon. I'm sure we won't run into another white haired girl in Genshin. Hey another white haired girl, voiced by the same VA as Kiana in the intro, oh also the 3 moon sisters. Also the whole gang from GGZ is basically here, except they have their names changed by like 1-3 letters. I'm skimping on the explanation here cause I think you guys know Genshin lore. So yeah, white haired girl, moon, who wants to guess the connection? These cycles run deeper than you know Aster.

@Harry Shade The recent leak of Kevin's Stigmata fighting actual Kevin kinda proves that HI3 Stigmata are also copies of ambitious souls. Despite being weaker the copy was a copy of Kevin during the PA, when he still wanted to actually help people. The two were totally different people, utterly fascinating, it was even talking about family blood lines and being proud of the new generations of Kaslana's, Kevin's children. I believe that Genshin Impact's parallel to Stigmata is Visions and Delusions, Visions being gifted to ambitious individuals with discretion and Delusions being made by ambitious people for themselves and/or others. With Kazuha we saw that a person can activate more than one Vision if they resonate with the ambitions of the former owner, this likely means that visions can be passed down family lines as long as the family continues to think and feel similarly. I think it also proves that people aren't destined to one type of element/vision like the world seems to imply, as the visions also seem to somewhat shape the people wielding them.

Thank you so much for comparing the parable of the gardener with Kusanali Jataka, when I first read the parable and saw 'tree spirit', 'cut' and '500' I instantly knew this was connected to Sumeru. And also this theory has a really nice message too about the cyclical nature of human civilization; I feel like this theme of cyclicality is relevant to both Honkai and Genshin Impact

I have a theory that the reason why Kusanali take form of a child is because she is one. As in, she is an elf child. We are kinda conditioned to think the archons are only non human beings, such as a dragon, a wind sprite and a Raijin, who need to take human forms. But if she is actually physically an elf, it explain her slow ageing and why the sages lock her away... its because she cant defend herself and immature to deal with ruling a land. And it could possibly match up with a practice from India I believe... they choose a small female child that is supposedly the reincarnation of a goddess, take her from her family, parade her and spoil her rotten, and then when she get her period they throw her out on the streets to fend for herself... because appearantly periods make women "impure" and the goddess need a pure body... insane shit. Maybe thats why they are concerned that they dont have many more festivals left...because maybe the sages are planing something like that?

@Harry Shade actually, those are more modern depictions when those creatures features long ears, not historic ones. The reason why I speculate that Kusanali is an elf is because we already have elves in the game. And there is a rumoured Elf village in Sumeru. Plus, we already have a sort of demon in Sumeru known as Deev, whos touch make people sick. With the dendro element symbolizing life and growth, I doubt that they want to associate Kusanali with the deev.

Kusanali is basically the Deku Tree Sprout from Ocarina of Time. Also, I really want to give her a hug. I find really interesting that she used the word "loop" instead of cycle or circle. I do agree that one of the meanings of this phrase is the cyclical nature of the civilizations of Teyvat but also... It is a strong argument for the simulation theory. Loops in programming are chunks or parts of code that repeat themselves until a condition or more are true. Some loops don't ever end (unless you force close the program or computer). I'm not sure if I support the theory of Teyvat being fake and breaking the loom of fate could be the Traveler rewriting the code/making the conditionals true, but as someone who is in the computer science field, it's the first thing I relate to the term loop.

Spoiler: Yes that's exactly what she is, everything in Sumeru is similar to the Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker lores for the Kokiri forest spirits and the forest in general. Even the Aranara seem to pull from all the same lore sources, they're fae-like people who love music, are timid and shy, can generally only be seen by special individuals or children, etc.

What if the traveler is constantly lopping? And the Abyss (the other twin) wants to break that loop like something causes them to reset like with people re-rolling accounts for certain characters. Sure, it doesn't explain the whole co-op thing in-game, or what if like in the chasm when we ask to go into other player's worlds we're crossing different dimensions. This would explain why some quests default back to how it was before we entered co-op it's as if the world's time freezes again doesn't explain why the time still continues

I think it is better than Inazuma's 2.0 story, and Sumeru 3.1's story is going to be even better. (The story leaks for 3.1 are not final, so it might change, hopefully they make it better, if they do make a change.)

I think Collei's dream refers on the sages behavior against Kusanali. They are kinda overprotect her, but this way she can't gain experience as an Archon which can lead to the case that she can't save the burning Irminsul tree so she can't become fully an Archon. :/

Ah I just had a realization! What if the sumerian gods actually represents the human psyche of ID, Ego and Super ego/ concious, subconcious and preconcious? Kusanalis powers seem to revolve around dreams, so she is a fit for the subconcious. Tree god may be a fit for the concious since they were the god of wisdom and learning. And the third might fit as the preconcious as they seem dead/sealed and the eremites want to revive it so its in a state in between?

We actually have many many more characters to expect from Mondstat, Lyuie, and Inazuma based on local the farming mats we currently have Essentially each specialty is used by a max of three characters and there’s a lot more characters the can use jsut based on that alone this seems supported by the newer Lyuien and Mondstat characters following this pattern as we as that we know there’s many significant Mondstat characters that we haven’t met yet. I’d expect that some of the currently unreleased characters may have dendro visions (well known and established examples: baizhu and yaoyao)

Spoilers for Honkai Impact 3rd What if the "gardener" in the story is Genshin's version of Otto, and he made some kind of deal with the primordial one to resurrect the previous dendro archon? Similar to how he made a deal with the Will of Honkai to save Kallen, and as a result, they ended up with Kusanali. Considering she's supposed to be Genshin's version of Theresa (who was made as a way to try and bring Kallen back to life) I think it fits. Either way, I feel the parallels are way too good to be a coincidence.

hi! im not sure if youll see this but there is a honkai manga called "second key" it focuses on su (who al haitham is based off) and it is about the "seed of sumeru" which is...its kinda complicated to explain but pretty much there is a tree in this bubble which represents the multiverse. @Oppaimon it’s not that they don’t worship him, in fact Mondstadt has a whole cathedral dedicated to him so I’d say Venti is definitely well worshipped. Venti is weak because he gives all the control to Mondstadt’s people, like he doesn’t directly rule them like the way Ei does. I remember in Mondstadt archon quest he mentioned this, that archon’s power comes from doing their duties as an archon and stuff. But we all know Venti doesn’t exactly do that, he helps out when they really need him and then leaves Mondstadt to its people most of the time. Very fitting for the god of freedom.

Yesterday there's a large ship docked at liyue harbor, near the shipyard. what i find interesting is that one of her main lines is: "i am just the moon, the real sun is long gone" i believe the sun refers to the previous archon, and that as the "moon" she seems to a be a reflection of sorts to the sun i also noticed it's parellel to the honkai song "moonhalo": "turn into a moon that always shows the warmth and brightness of the sun" this line is referring to kiana who has heavy symbolism as the moon and how she's carrying the legacy of himeko. considering the both have white hair, moon symbolism and a story about legacy, i think they might be connected

Only thing I’m speculating on is Alice an Klee and why Kusanali got the exact same ears… also makes me wonder if they are the same exact “race” and if both Alice an Klee if yes.. where also born the same way.. ALSO don’t ever remember a “dad/father” at all even hint at.. not even dead best dad… thst make sense … one connect is knowledge.. I'm pretty sure that the sun that Nahida is referring to is the previous dendro Archons and her calling herself the moon is basically telling us that she is not the real thing but a fake. Her lines basically means that she is but only a reflection of the real thing just like how the moon reflect lights from the sun. Which is why she has a small number followers or worshipers. She can't do anything herself so she ask the traveler to helps her find the truth unless she is one of the moon sister but that's impossible because they are old beyond 500 years.
