It was a pretty exciting break-up this year with the ice climbing the 40-foot dike in ten seconds. This has happened three or four times over the past 20-years; it's not too unusual.
A week later, the river level is dropping and numerous smaller sections of broken pans are still lying around along the sea wall. They'll eventually melt out and we'll be back to normal with everyone excited about getting on the water with their boats.
