Sepp is a good rider, and a likable guy, but letting the Twitter outrage mob literally decide a GT and gift what should be one of the great honors of sports to a rider of his caliber has tarnished the sport of cycling permanently. It's more similar to pro wrestling than real sports now. Even the age of doping did not demean and degrade the sport as much as this, because at least all that doping was done in the pursuit of victory by all means. After watching this I'm not sure since I couldn't understand what was being said by Zeeman and anyone else not speaking english. Rewarding sportsmanship, respect and effort by supporting your domestique to win does the opposite of "devaluing" things - it shows how some sports enable demonstrations that there are things that are more important than power meters, pedal stroke stats and even sports itself. Just like GC leaders are not attacked by teammates when they are struggling, the fans made their feelings know that Kuss, as the GC leader, should be extended the same treatment he had offered for years to enable GT wins for Roglic and Vingegaard. This ridiculous clownery of insane hyperbolissation of what happened at the Vuelta only speaks about its author, their complete inability to involve balance and nuance in their claims, and their deranged views on values in life.

Keeps people from asking questions that a less likable rider in his position would be bombarded with. Roglic was honest and showed the most integrity of all, he wanted to race for it just like they should have done, but the Jumbo cowards were too scared of Twitter.
@SvalbardSleeperDistrict5 ай бұрын
What the absolute heck are you talking about - Jonas, who said he wanted to keep things in favour of Kuss but had both Roglic and the team overrule him and decide they would race - is less of a champion than Pogacar, who went for it when Jonas slid at the Tour a few years ago, minutes before Jonas did the ultimate in sportsmanship when it was Pogacar's turn to go to the ground? Some people's blind fandom and invented sectarian narratives that go against every fact and evidence is just pure, unadulterated cringe to read.
