Watching this for the first time just now, I don't know how to say what I feel. I felt like crying, yelling, punching walls. All kinds of stuff because I wouldn't have made it through what Kutt has. Being 15, I'm a really new-gen fan of Kutt. But it makes me disappointed in myself to say I was born and raised in KC, a fan of Strange for several years, yet just now heard of Kutt after his departure. Since I've heard Kuttin Loose, I've been hooked. I scratched up some money and my brother and I went to see him on the last day of the On My Own tour. It was the best night of my life and it pissed me off when he was talking about the 7 people at that club, because thinking back on it... there were 5 fans that showed up to his FREE meet and greet on his last show of the tour in his home town. There were maybe 50-60 people there for the actual show. Only knowing bits and pieces of the backstory with Strange, I learned a lot of new stuff from this video. And now knowing this, I realize the man I met at that show is one of the realest motherfuckers breathing right now. Before the show, my brother convinced me to make a quick mix CD of some of my new and old songs to give to Kutt at the meet and greet. I was skeptical because I had no idea how he would feel about a kid asking him to listen. But I did it anyway and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Kutt took it and smiled, then said he'd give it a listen on the way to pick up his son. I found out 9 hours later that he stuck to that. He stopped his own show and came up to me in the front row to say 'What's up, JCO?'. He remembered my name, my stage name and everything about me from earlier that day and he stopped his concert to let the crowd know who I was. He said he had listened to the CD I gave him and he thought I was one dope motherfucker, especially being only 15. After the show, I went up on the side of the stage to meet him again and he wanted to have another conversation. He told me again he really liked what I gave him and thanked me for coming out to the show. That was almost a month ago and I still remember almost every detail to the night. Kutt, whether you're with Strange or not, your real fans will be here. Like I said, I didn't really hear about you until you were on your own. I've since heard your older shit, as well as the new EP and I love Kutt Calhoun for Kutt Calhoun. And no matter of Strange Music or Black Gold Entertainment, Kutt Calhoun is still one of the realest motherfuckers breathing right now.

I have never commented on single KZbin video......ever. I felt I needed to on this one. I caught Tech, Kutt, Lynch Ces, and Rittz in Maryland last year and it was fantastic. I did the whole Strange Music "buy the album get an autograph" shit (even tho I already owned it) and Kutt was kool as a muthafucka. Then not too long after, this big unmistakable muhfucka with gold chains around his neck comes rollin through the crowd in front of me and gives ME daps and thanks me for being down. I cannot express how awesome that was, Kutt is one of the realest artists I have ever met. I love me some Tech and just about all of Strange, but I will never second guess Kutt doin what he needs to do. Got Black Gold framed to this day cause of how cool that man was. I had a feeling these were the reasons why he left. A little over a year ago i went to a Tech show in Billings, MT. Im in line waiting for a drink, and Kutty steps in front of me, looks back, and uses his famous line 'Ya'll mind if i Kutt?" I of course grin like an idiot and say ok, but immediately follow it up with 'where the hell ya been at man. i aint seen you at a show in a grip!' (referring to the hiatus he mentioned in this video). He immediately goes on the defensive saying things like 'Yall must be new, ive been with strange since the beginning etc etc' and walks away mumbling something about new fans and being a creator. I love ya Kutty, and i have since, guess what, 2001. I knew damn well who you were and damn well that you are a founding father at strange. But damn man, get off the high horse about new fans already. Its causing you to damage your relationship with longtimers like myself. That night was the first time ive ever walked away from you or your show with a bad taste in my mouth. When you replied the way you did, you made me feel very similar to how you felt you were being treated at strange. I hope you see that at some point.

I first learned about your music back in 2008, but what I heard was everything. me and my best friend listened to literally everything strange has ever released. anyway my point being is that I see your point with this video and its valid to say that life's greatest lesson is to do what is in your best interest. My only fear is that it would've been another one of those rap break offs where it's one guy just going "fuck you" for whatever reason and the relationship got broken off because of some silly shit. Happy to see how that's not how it went down and hopefully each side might start working with each other at some point (It was nearly 20 years that Kutt was with those guys, hopefully shit didn't go bad because of a decision made for Kutt's own well being). Always found it weird that Kutt probably had the more mainstream rapping style out of everyone on Strange (not a bad thing) and yet for whatever reason the views on his videos were always the lowest out of everyone on Strange's YT, and I started wondering if Kutt would be better off breaking off. Travis Black Promotion is more than social media, I don't really think it's techs fault but with the whole "fuck the industry" thing he had going (has going? haven't listened in a while) strange music as a label is going to have problems with all the other sides that come with it like interviews, cross label tours, networking etc. Tech is their premier artist and you hardly see him promoted in the mainstream, an interview here and there but if he's not getting much shine there's not a lot of chances for those under him.

Here's the deal though. All these artists tour with tech, and let's be real people come to see tech. Or at least they used to. But still to this day, those same people that are claiming to be down w/ the label, the movement, the music, and the artists aren't purchasing any of the music they claim to enjoy. Tech even publicly told all the strange music fans, to start buying kutt's work because there weren't any album sales. Touring with Tech is big enough promotion as it is, on top of being on Strange Music. However, the music speaks for itself and for some reason people don't purchase albums from other artists like they do Tech. I've bought at least one copy of every strange release for 4 years, but I know there are those out their claiming their down w/ the movement but don't purchase anything other than merchandise.

I walked up, and threw my hand out, and you shook my hand, and hugged me brother. I was so stoked, and young. It was you as the headliner, with HedPE opening. I loved that show bro. Your music changed my life. I been to so many shows with you krizz and tech on stage. So sick, B walking on stage, getting the crowd heify. Loved the good old days man. But, strange has changed... Drastically. I'm covered in strange music tats. Left forearm is snake and bat, inside of right wrist has roman numeral 9 (Cult Leader song). And back of neck has a varsity style 9(KOD song). Wow... ever since i started listening to tech n9ne in 2010, i was hooked. I listened to tech n9ne so much i didn't really do my research on the rest of the label. I knew who u were but i listened to only a few songs. They were dope. It's crazy how everyone besides u ( kutt calhoun) prozak, brotha lynch hung, and big scoob, got more attention and promotion. I knew it was all about tech, basically from the beginning. I actually bought the black gold album and it was and still is amazing. For strange to do that to u, it was right for u to leave. I respect your decision and hope nothing but the best in your music and new label.I'm a forever fan and your one of the most underrated rappers of all time.

I just wanted you to know that I have known about you for a long time. the first time i saw you was on the "Imma Tell" video and i was like that must be Kutt and sadly i must admit the 1st album I have by you is Black Gold (I'm going purchase your other albums later on) and I remember the first concert I saw you preform was at the Filmore here in Maryland it was around the time they had just signed Rittz and Ces and you were on stage With Brotha Lynch, Tech, Krizz, Ces, Rittz and the part were it was you and Tech B-walking on stage maaaaaaaan I will never forget that. Truly a great show so i am a little sad that i may not get to witness this again but from that day on i was cemented as a fan of all of you.
