When an elder say they came from “nom thiab tswv” family, it means were not poor but the family has enough money to survive and their parents has great leadership, or good reputation to the community/ village. It doesn’t mean they were “kings and queens” or “royals” back then. Thank you for the story, love the history that needs to be preserved from elder’s story before the war!
