Having children is a blessing but know your limits. 11 is a bit much to be in America. 2-4 is about average now. Growing up with 10 siblings, I know the everyday struggles. My parents were true Hmong from Laos. We were on welfare until all of us were out of high school. We didn't know about vacations, no birthdays, just everyday life love. And being the middle children you don't get much attention from your parents. I see our struggles and didn't what that for my children. I want to be able to provide for my kids. I don't want my kids to grow up wanting things because I can't afford it. We were poor but never hungry.

Some Hmong men need to be educated about a woman's health after delivery. Having back to back children in the same year is not healthy for a woman. Any sane guy knows that you shouldn't even have intercourse with her after delivery. Give her time to heal first. But some guys just don't care about their woman. I've even heard some say that a woman's private part is strong, just keep doing it (after delivery). It's sickening. Most of the time, this statement comes from guys who haven't been in a delivery room with their woman.

For realz. I did it myself after #3 (7 years marriage) and done it since. Never needed or need consent from my husband. It’s my body, i say yay or nay. Hair, i cut and dye as i have the funds for. You should have tied your tube after the 6th babies. Most professional women in America have between 2-3 children. This woman sounds like she grew up in the early 80's when a lot of us are still MTT. Between the 80s, 90s and 2000, Hmong are still forcing their kids to get married. Now, Hmong guys and girls are in there 30s and 40s, and are still single. We all were MTT in the 80s and 90s. At this time, any Hmong person with a bachelor's degree was a big deal. By the time I was in middle school, some Hmong girls were already married (1986-88), and when I was in high school, most girls my age were married (1989-92). So, glad I wasn't those young people being forced to get marry. I was 25 when I tied the knot in 1997. Even in 1997, even though it felt like a long time we have only been in the US 17 years (Still not an American citizen at this point). I got my citizenship in 2000. My English wasn't great at this time either. My English got really good between 2005-present. Today I can say my English is not bad. Since 2011, I decided to stop feeling sorry for myself and carry myself like an American citizen. Today, I am a proud American first and Asian-American 2nd. With this change in my thinking, I believe it is the success of my business, serving my communities, my cities, and counties one house whole at a time, collecting and paying taxes like all good American businesses. Because I am in Charlotte NC and borders South Carolina, I do serve some nearby cities in South Carolina. Today, most Hmong couples are having less children. One of my wife's best friends only have 1 child, we only have 2. All of my brothers and I put together only average 3.5 children (There are 6 of us). My parents, have 10 surviving children and 2 deceased that I know of. We don't have enough Hmong people in America, please have more children if you can. If you can't afford it, I understand. Having a large ethnic population can also give you a lot of power, power in your community, in your local government, in your city, county, and State; and if you have a large enough group, you can influence the US and or the world.
