@JoonesAdventuresOutdoor3 жыл бұрын
Smarta tips.

@JoonesAdventuresOutdoor3 жыл бұрын

Jag tycker inte so mycket den här T28. Igen en fantastic skön video from dej :) Now back to engelska. I mix tyvär för mycket for tysk och svenska, being a finn but quite good understanding. in both språken. It is just that it has no decent windscreen. Has a good pot and also a pan. I have your jägerkök or a copy rather, and it is a storm cooker. Works in any weather. But rattles a lot with noise and still a bit heavy. My current system is a Toaks 1.1 litre pot with a bail handle. As a stand for Trangia burner a 3 leg stand: If you search for Paleohiker and Redcamp, You will see what type it is. Mine is just from aliexpress and nameless one and cheap. I think about same distance from burner to pot as that T-28. So not the fastest. And like it is the same as that T-28, no decent windscreen, even worse probably in any protection. But in my pot i can fit my windscreen. Again a chinese one that is with 2 thin steel plates. It is 62 grams that are joined with some twisting easy. Height is maybe 10.5 cm while the pot is 11 cm. I try put a link if it will work for the windshield or allowed lol. www.aliexpress.com/item/4000586060171.html?spm=a2g0s.12269583.0.0.32743a296mnyM8 Took a long time to arrive, maybe 4 weeks, But I like a lot about that pot, stand and windshield combination. No pan though :(

Thanks, yes I agree with you, not the best windscreen, the one in your link looked nice. I have tried to use aluminium foil as a windscreen and put it directly to the pot stand, half the pot stand covered. But the heat from the burner gets to high and the alcohol starts to boil. that’s make the flames burn uncontrollably. I think that the best protection from the wind is some type of windscreen that’s stands at a distance from the burner. The pros with T28 is the small size but it’s not a perfect stove, not the best for hot dry summers. The jägarkök and those copies are quite good stoves converted to gas-burner it’s really good. In the future I will probably buy a T27 also. Not that I need but I guess you can say that I am some type of collector 😂 for some reason the T27 is missing in my collection😂

@@JoonesAdventuresOutdoor I have wondered often about jägarkök and the small space it has for the burner. Compared to Trangia set. If that might boil the alcohol almost. I do though think that the pot distance above will restrict how "uncontrollably" the flames burn. Limit it so to say. The small chamber might not be the best for a gas burner air intake also with max power. My chinese 2 plates windscreen leaves me something like 3 cm or more to the 11.5 cm pot and it does not get so hot that I can't even with bare hands lift the shield up. It is rather then only a windshield. When no wind/breeze, it is not even needed or any plus benefits. Just always wind in nature :)
@JoonesAdventuresOutdoor3 жыл бұрын
I guess it’s hard to say how small the space between the pot and the windshield is. Even though the windscreen is larger on the Trangia, the pots are shaped different so maybe there’s not a very big difference in the volume of air, also the water in the pots cools the flames and the air inside the windshield. If you put in an empty pot the stove will probably burn much hotter. Try to listen to the burner when it’s burning if you can hear that the alcohol is boiling or not. The sounds from the burner is different when the alcohol is boiling. The burner burns harder and you can also hear the bubbles in the alcohol. Both in Jägarköket and in trangia T27 and T25 the burner hangs under the top windshield in an ventilated space that cools the burner from underneath so that the part of the burner that holds the alcohol don’t get so hot. On the T28 the burner stands inside the windshield and that’s will probably make the burner to get hotter and the alcohol doesn’t get cooled down. When using the Gas-burner in T25,T27 and Jägarköket, the gas canister is outside the windshield so the fuel doesn’t heats up. And it’s also very easy to regulate the effect in the burner so it’s not burning so hot. There is no reason to have the burner on full power. The alcohol burner is about 1000w and the Gas burner around 2100w the military alcohol burner is around 6-700w, so the maximum use of the gas burner should be around 1/3 or 1/2 off full effect. In lower temperatures below freezing temperatures you can probably use much higher effect than in the summer time when it’s 20 degrees and higher outside. In the summer when it’s risk of forest fire, the gas stove is more secure to use. Easy to regulate and no spill of fuel. It’s also safer to light the stove with matches than with a fire steel.

@@JoonesAdventuresOutdoor Yes you don't need the full power of a gas burner. Without myself explored one, this guy mentioned the clone not working so optimal with full power ;) kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJK4nGyLfNZja7c&ab_channel=Thereal111t

I don't think you need have any worries about your Trangia Mini system. It is quite stable. Also alcohol sets in general. If you spilled some on wood, it will burn with blue invisible flame its own only but light the burning stuff with a visible flame and more power than your spilled alcohol. Any spills won't start burning on their own. We have twig stoves related to open fire with a good reason in fire hazard days denied. Spirit fuel is not gasoline or forest twigs, so very different as fuel in that sense. And why would you spill any in first place ;) What you mentioned about it sooting less than say my Optimus 77 clone/jägarkök clone might be really true. Also my experience with the "RedCamp" stand.The stormcooker for some reason burns with also more smell. So it is not burning as clean, but I don't want pinpoint my suspicions why exactly. Except say that the smaller distance, no need loose any of that spirit energy, probably burns also cleaner as it has enough oxygen. I always put about 30ml water to my half liter Trangia fuel bottle and it helps with that cooker, but still soots quite a lot.
