Even the voice of Tamburi is also giving very special beauty for this very special song and ofcouce superb violin and mridangam.i have listened this song countless times in the composer's oown voice.we are really blessed to listen and learn.

MDR's famous kriti in Bageshri ragam Here shloka sung by KVN as the Viruttam is with some great violin accompaniment of T.N. Krishnan (Ragas Shahana, Varali, Natakurinji, Ahiri, Sindhubhairavi). This shloka's details were explained by Sachi in his personal blog stating that it is the staple of many singers today. jAnAti rAma tava nAma-ruchiM maheshaH jAnAti gautamasatI tvat-charaNa-prabhAvam | jAnAti dorbala-parAkramaM Isha-cApaH jAnAtyamOGa-paTu-bANa-gatiM payOdhiH || "Oh Rama, Shiva knows the sweetness of your name. Ahalya, the wife of sage Gautama, knows the resurrective power of your feet's touch. The divine bow (it could well be Shiva's bow or also Vishnu's bow- Parashurama gave it to Rama) knows the valour of your powerful arms. And the ocean well knows the infallible power of your sharp and forceful arrow". It is an interesting prayer. Shiva chants Rama's name, and extols it as equal to the entire Vishnusahasranama according to tradition. Although Valmiki Ramayana mentions no special relationship between Rama and Shiva, ever since Tulsidasa dedicated his magnum opus to Shiva's inspiration, Hindus believe in the mutual worshipful attitude between Rama and Shiva- as deified in Rameshwaram.

The violist doesn't seem to be Vidwan Sri TNK . Vidwan Sri KVN has performed only in a very few live concerts with Prof TNK as his violin accomplishment.. those were during the early years - late 1960s or early 1970s.. Sri KVN had no vocal supports during those years. Just a thought..

(kshIra) sagara shayana vibho prabho.... MDR's famous kriti in Bageshri ragam, originally a Hindustani classical ragam which was said to have been first sung by Mian Tansen, the celebrated court singer of the Emperor Akbar in the 16 th Century ! By 20th Century Bageshri was found popularity in Carnatic Music form.I have listened vocalist Ranganatha Sharma's rendition with the requisite devotion, which is excellent in deed! But he skipped the Chittasvorams which rightly adds value to the kriti. Now a days vocalists think that they have the preemptive right to ignore Chittiasvorams!..what ever be the reasons.,say lack of time or even their appetite! Are they not aware that the great composers have penned their keerthanas with their prerogative to praise the deities mentioned in it and those who use the same for any recitals have a moral obligation to ritually follow the composer's doctrines? For info......Let me write on use of this ragam Bageshjri by a Music Director-Ramchandra Narhar Chitalkar, known as Just C..Ramachandra initially in Hindi films......for example the popular song-'Radha na bole' - in Film-'Azad'/of 1955. In a 1978 interview at BBC studios with Mahendra Kaul (a Kashiri Pandit, famous Radio Presenter with Radio Kashmir , then with VoA in US and later on at BBC), he ascribed the reason to Bageshri's simplicity.! Ramachandra similarly provided a memorable musical score accompanying a competition between two dancers whose roles were played by Padmini and Vyjayanthimala for the song Kannum Kannum Kalanthu lyrics penned by Kothamangalam Subbu, sung by P. Leela and Jikki in the Tamil movie Vanjikottai Valiban (1958). He remade the song in Hindi as "Aaja Tu Aaja" from Raj Tilak (1958) written by P. L. Santoshi where Asha Bhosle and Sudha Malhotra rendered their voice. Wonderful sweet rendition by maestro K V NARAYANSWAMY (KVN) ...Chittasvoroms would have added beauty to the melodious rendition.... not sung! ...Pranams! I am so exhilarated on listening the " Shira Sagara Shayana Vibho"( keerthanam penned by erstwhile senior maestro MD Ramanathan) sung by late . maestro K V NARAYANSWAMY.....I felt as if I had darshan of the Lord Maha Vishu upon listening the super melodious soulful rendition !!!!!!
