Thanks for the video. I finally learned something new. Simple, I can't believe I didn't know about it before but learning how to use giant trapdoor a mid-point between dino gate and behemoth gate. Also despite using horizontal pillars I can't believe I didn't try using them to stack stuff that doesn't usually stack. I watched so many building tips videos in the past for ark survival but could never find anything that was both new to me and useful. It's usually basic stuff everyone knows or it was new but not functionally useful. I found a couple asthetic tips but nothing too interesting. Thank you for showing something not only new to me but something functionally useful too. Keep up the good work. Thank you.

Use railings to build a spider web, there are so many snap points that you can make a wall that takes way more c4 to open a hole big enough for a player to fit through. Then you can still snap quarter walls as well, and to those you can snap regular walls in a bunch of new orientations. You can make a stone base that resists more c4 than a regular metal wall without railing spam. Also turrets can shoot through railings, so you can protect your turrets with a spider web of metal railings and force people to soak them.

I can confirm that to tilt the foundation into a perfect 45degree only work on perfectly flat terrain, also the method to align a normal foundation to a tilted foundation also only work if the terrain is absolutely flat

yea sadly, was trying to build a turned cryofloor in icecave on center and that shit already is aaalmost flat, nbut it shifts the fence foundation slightly by 5 degree and that fucks it all up ... would be actually super cool

I think they screwed up the spike walls. While I can tip the floors to a 45 degree angle they don't line up with the rest of my build. The spike walls sit crooked on the roof piece even with using the ladder.

Did they patch the 90 degree build? I cannot attach a spike wall to a ramp to get from 45 to 90.

Has the tilted structures been patched? I can get the 45 angle no problem, but just can't get the 90. The spikes just will not go sideways on the roof no matter what I try. Anyone have any advice or know if it was patched?

It still works, but you have to make sure that the ground is 100% flat or sloped down from the 45 degree sloped ceiling. If there is a little bump in front of the 45 degree sloped ceiling, it wont work

Just tried your foundation lowering tip on official Xbox and it's not exactly 2.5 foundations apart, it's like an inch too short which creates issues as far as snapping goes for later on. Any ideas?

It still works, but you can only put things on top of specific structures and preserving bins are one that you can put things on top of. So try using a table or fridge, put the bin on top of that, then pick up the table/fridge and then place another bin there. Hope that makes sense lol

If you have ASA on xbox or have an xbox profile on your pc. I'd like to join a game and party to figure this out. I can join your map or you can join mine. It doesn't matter. If this still works I could use help figuring out what I did wrong. I can't get the spike to go on the side of the wall/ceiling. I can get it on the ground if front and even on top but not the side with it pointing sideways instead of up.

7:07 hi! I've been trying to snap it at 45 degrees just like you explain, but doesn't snap clean and staight to me as we can see in your video. It takes a few degrees deviation. I'm not blaming u, but just explaining. I wonder if u know some other way or trick because I really like the vertical hatch gate idea, and I'm frustrated because I can't have it 😅😂

Ever since the scorched earth update. I basically can't play anymore. Started playing the game a month after launch. Never experienced a crash ever, not even once. Until the scorched earth update. Used to play on 2k at epic settings for everything. Now the game crashes so much. I could play for 10 minutes and the game crashes 25 times. No matter how low the settings are set. So as much as I want to try this stuff. Wild card severely needs to fix their game.

Learnt some good tips, but i came here hoping to solve another problem.... How can i get my behemoth gates to work properly for my water tame base on hilly ground? The gateways snap fine then the gate won't fit, really annoying. Tried using pillars to raise the gates but seems really buggy as they don't snap properly.

Yeah sorry about that lol I was almost done editing the video for that when my HD that had all my recordings on it died so I lost all the footage of me making it and of the stop motion intro that takes an annoying amount of time to make. SO I can just stopped making videos because that for a while, well that and because ASA doesn't run well on my comp. But I'll probably make a different, better castle build in the future

I hope you don't disappoint. I paused at 1:53 in the video to share what I'm most excited to learn and why. I look forward to learning how to place 2 walls in the same place. Not for pvp as I don't play competitive just single player and cooperatively with family. I want to learn how to snap two walls in the same space not for defensive purposes but for asthetics to have the inside wall have one material while the outside has a different material. I typically try this by placing two foundations and flip the walls accordingly but this typically leaves both materials being visible and ugly. What I saw in the intro was a clean double wall without both material showing up. I look forward to seeing how to do this and if you can place things on a wall at 90° It would be interesting if it's possible to snap things to the ceiling the same way. Without further delay Time to unpause and see if I actually learn something useful for a change.
