Great episode, love the quiz questions. Quite disappointed to know our "Indian" comedians and influencers know so little about one of the biggest epics of Indian mythology but are quite eager to tackle questions on Greek mythology/European history. Have observed the same patterns across different participants and episodes. kV, please keep including questions on Indian mythology and history so the participants either read up in anticipation or at least get educated during the quiz.

There are 100s of mass media books written on Greek and Norse Mythos and European History. How many on Indian mythology? Most of them have probably read Amish's trilogies because that is one of the very few mass acclaimed works on Indian heritage.

@@arjunpandava6435 1. You don't understand humour, sir. Humour is meant to be taken lightly. If you're not a sport enough to take humour lightly, it's quite surprising that you are even ready to watch Kvizzing with 'Comedians'. This is probably the least harmful joke that you can make on Mahabharata. I am grateful that you haven't been introduced to the dank culture. 2. Whataboutism is rooted deep inside your veins. And they definitely do not have even shreds of knowledge on Islam and its theology. I am a 100% sure about it. 3. Prakhar, Shakya and Vishal knew the names of the 5 Pandavas. Sourav didn't. And Sourav doesn't know anything about Greek mythology too. Those 5 villages were demanded for the Pandavas is not pervasive knowledge. And you can not be well versed in all the topics. Not knowing about Mahabharata is as harmless as not knowing the etymology of Carrots. 4. It's the fault of our education system that knowledge regarding the Indian heritage isn't prevalent in our text books and isn't passed down to the students. When you're on your own inquisitive journey, it's not an obligation that you've to prefer your mythology over a certain mythology. P.s. Harmless doesn't mean that it shouldn't be taught. I do believe that the indic heritage should be instilled in all of us but at this point if someone doesn't have the knowledge, we can't blame them.

​​ @Mannan Goel I don't think in a world with google at our fingertips, a lack of sources/literature can be a valid argument for not knowing enough about anything - it's just about a lack of interest. 1. I think many people like me got their first exposure to this epic through an excerpt from Rashmirathi by Ramdhari Singh Dinkar called "Krishna ki chetavani" which was a part of the syllabus when I was in school (not sure if it's in the syllabus now). That said, I do think our education system can do a lot more to generate interest in Indian history and mythology - given that school is probably the only place where most of us ever touch these subjects. 2. In addition to already existing renditions of Mahabharata which are easily available on Amazon, some really interesting and popular takes on the epic can be found in the works of Devdutt Patnaik (Jaya) and Shivaji Savant(Mrityunjaya). For kids, Amar Chitra Katha has published a beautiful series on the epic which may not delve deeper into philosophical aspects but is enough to build familiarity. 3. At this point, we should honestly accept that many modern English-educated people don't feel particularly proud of their own ancestry and therefore knowledge about Mahabharat/Ramayana does not command the intellectual capital within our circles that knowing western mythology and history does - not limiting this statement to the quiz or comedians in question but it's true for many people. These are not one-off cases and while everybody is entitled to have their own interests, given these influencers are the role models of the youth, they are best positioned to make knowledge about Indian history and mythology cool. They are free to know 10x more details about Greek mythology if it interests them but as an Indian, I'd be surprised if the finalists/winners of the quiz who seem to know everything about everything don't know much about their own culture and mythology.

You brought Oppenheimer for no substantial reason. Ones reading knowledge shouldn't depend on some other person and you're basing one intellect on that, then by that means I can say you don't have even 1% of intellect of Einstein if you haven't read ethics by spinoza. Also where is one proper cinematic adaptation of Mahabharata or ramayan or a break out game or a modern series?

@@berserk322 Ramayana has several animated adaptations and the Mahabharata has had several movies (Shyam Benegal’s Kalyug and even regular Bollywood bollocks like Rajneeti to name a few). Also it’s not like Greek and Roman history has many modern movies or series depicting the length and breadth of their epics. The original comment isn’t off the mark to suggest studying anything Indic is looked down upon. In fact, a lack of Indic knowledge is deemed to be a badge of honour to show conformity to the rules of the “elite”.
