About the WUPW one, their logo from when they first signed on until the early '90s resembles the civil defense logo with the 36 in the triangle. It may replace the 36 with a CD for EBS tests on WUPW.

It's good to see a "local" EAS test. It's unusual in that the lettering is on an ugly brown background. Nothing fancy like the CD triangle. Thanks.

Which, for some unknown reason and until they decided to use the "EBS Easter Eggs" logo, KVOS had loaded the CD logo into its slide machine upside down. The "CD" in the middle appeared normal, however.

Please reply about the Detroit WDIV EBS test in the '80s I gave all the info about that it had a black screen with a CD logo as it's backdrop for opening and closing spiels and the green spinning lines with the CD logo in the lower right while the tone played. I posted comments millions of times and nobody repiled about the WDIV one.

Anyone seen KPLR channel 11 in St. Louis EBS tests? KPLR aired EBS tests on commercial breaks during cartoons.

The text says " This is a test. This station is conducting a test of the Emergency Broadcast System. This is only a test. " Is freezed

They should’ve aired a disclaimer in the test that this only applied to the Bellingham market and that those in Vancouver should switch to a Canadian licensed tv channel for Canada specific information. This is an American border blaster into Canada after all.

Would you post a video of Grantree Furniture commercial please? I like to see the commercial. =)

This is more "PAY ATTENTION WE'RE GONNA DIE" than the new EAS sound which is like "IGNORE ME NOTHING MUCH WILL HAPPEN. But this is a product of the 80s.

This reminds of the WGBH (Boston's PBS channel) test card back in the 1980's (except that used a red background and had a crawl screen)

Me too. I'd also like to see the one from WCVB Boston that was used in the late 80s up to about 1994 voiced by who I assume is the late Frank Avruch. The one where a satellite dish is seen in the background after the test completes.

I remember seeing an alert test like this in the 80's when my brother and I were kids and my brother started scaring me, saying the Russians were coming to nuke us, or something to that effect. I don't think I slept well that night. o.o
